I "joined" The Great Northern Empire because the name and symbol stood out to me more, and I thought more people would be tempted to join the "rebels" rather than the "empire". Going by the results in this thread at the moment I may have been wrong though

The problem is that I signed more than once because I thought it wasn't working properly, so I'll probably receive tons of merchandise emails!! 

I imagine once you've signed up it will recognise your email address after that. You probably won't receive extra emails.

Oh dear!!!....people worrying about if they've made the right choice?!!..LMAO...what on earth do you think is going to happen by choosing one or the other?!!...there's going to be some block put on your ears so that you can NEVER EVER hear what the other choice relates to?!!...At the end of the day it won't make diddly squat difference to what you will ultimately hear from the band, so stop worrying about it! My only worry is that the new record be it a single or double release, is MUCH better than that career low last release from the band!

I don't think theres a whole lot of worry going on and just a bunch of fanboys having a bit of fun with what is thus far VERY intriguing.

Hello everybody, I've been following the forum for a while and finally I decided to register, since some news are starting to show up.
If it's really going to be a double album,I think the Great Northern Empire's CD will be the prog side, while the ravenskill militia's will be more metal, like TOT. So I decided to join the Great Northern Empire and see what happens

That sounds like a pretty cool idea to me.  The DT fanbase is kind of a union of metal heads and prog fans.  We all complain either about DT being too heavy or about James not growling enough when he sings.  This way, everyone gets what they want, and we can even pick sides.

Or maybe this is just the beginning of an experiment where they put LaBrie, Portnoy, and Kevin Moore all in a room together and see who comes out alive.

I think it can happen.

Like with Iron Maiden's The Book of Souls... double album? 18 minute song? "duh it will be meandering slow intros over and over", and turns out instead a critically acclaimed album with Empire of the Clouds receiving universal praise.

It will be the same with this record
