I'm leaving

1st Trip - Katowice - Prague \m/

See you there !!!

RodrigoAltaf

I'll be following updates here and the Rush show on Periscope.

Maybe JP forgot to switch off the killzone mode on his guitars before he hit the stage, and everyone's dead.

Gotta love the ending! It's nothing new, as the epic scream + repeated As I Am's was introduced in 2012, but it's still a definite improvement over the previous live versions (Budokan and 2009).

wasteland

At this point it's likely that Innocence was played at Minsk as well, and not The Crimson Sunrise.

The youtube user who uploaded these two videos confirmed that the setlist deployed in Katowice was otherwise the same we saw two days ago.

EDIT: Setlist.fm lists BTV as the encore tonight. Which might or might not be true, of course.

JayOctavarium

maybe...

they are playing a different section of acos every night...

Maybe one of these newbs at the show can simply confirm if the song started at the beginning or not.  Easy and settled.

I also noticed that that the intro to Bridges in the Sky has been shorted (Abridges in the Sky?), which I think is a good thing for festivals, and basically any post-ADTOE tour.

I actually don't like the way they do that ending at all, with the simplified drumming and more repetitive vocals. The Budokan ending of AIA is still one of DT's most badass moments.
But I'm very happy they're playing As I Am again, as it's a great song, and they probably didn't have any other option from ToT anyway due to song length. :lol

Vacant

I meant appropriate for that kind of show. I adore Vacant, but I don't think it would be fitting for that kind of setlist.

JayOctavarium

And who the fuck are you to decide what's suitable for a setlist?

IT WAS GOOD ENOUGH FOR SCORE.

WHY DONT YOU GO PLAY WITH YOUR TRANSFARMERS....

BlobVanDam

Trans-farmers are something different altogether, Jay. And I won't judge people for their gender identity or outdoor lifestyle working the fields for a living.

Assuming they went straight into BMS from that last chord, I think this must be their equivalent of Rush's confusing Xanadu/Superconductor medley from Roll the Bones tour - a part of a fan-favorite epic followed by a rocking yet slightly unpopular song. :P WWRD doesn't always work for the best! :lol

It's likely that some newbie fan in Minsk was thrown off by the "watched the crimson sunrise" line and listed it accordingly. Innocence is in a similar tempo to CIAW, making a transition easy, and seems more logical for a festival show because it includes vocals, so I'm sure it was played at both shows.

Skipping the intro is strongly advised for those suffering from seizures  :lol

I'm going to be the only one here to say this, but I loved that.
Am I correct that this is the first time JR has played that song with the band? It's obviously MM's first time, and they both did a perfect job of it.

That is as offensive as it is clever, sir. :lol We would never kill a Prime for food.

wasteland

Hey, I liked it too! It looks like a fun song to hear live!

JayOctavarium

I'm sure JR has played BMS before, but I can't search for it atm on my phone.

KevShmev

Burning My Soul was played on the 6DOIT tour quite a few times, but it was always the demo version.

genome

That's got to be one of the best light shows I've seen from DT!

SeRoX

Well, Innocence sounds promising. I love how James sounds on it. Can't wait to hear the rest.

ResultsMayVary

I'm still interested to see MM's playing on songs like Constant Motion and Panic Attack. Mostly to see if his interpretation on certain parts is similar or different to the original MP drum parts.

?

IdoSC

Is there any video from this tour of Constant Motion, from this show or otherwise? Or, alternatively, has anyone been there and can tell how do they handle the vocal trade-off section of JLB and MP now?

JayOctavarium

Mike Portnoy comes out on stage and sings them.

Just interested if it's a playback of JLB singing in low register (yay!) or JP singing live (...yay I guess...)
Or maybe even MM singing!

There was a brief video of the middle of Constant Motion up (which I can't find now all of a sudden). From what I remember, MM was playing it as is.

Seems like no, or almost no backing tracks on this run-- YYAAAYYY  :metal :metal :metal :metal  :) :) :) :)

JP sounds good, he should sing more, and so should the other guys

bosk1

Wow, that's got to be brutal to sing that way.  Interesting choice to do it that way.
