Nice to see TAC give The Killing Hand a mention - I was close to including it myself.
:metal
The Killing Hand has the most vocally sour note in DT history so being a vocalist I can't get past it.
Other than that, quality song.

Well, listen to the LATM version.

1. Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence
2. Octavarium
3. A Change of Seasons
4. The Count of Tuscany

There are a lot of great tracks...but it is always hard to not list epics in lists such as this...

As I Am

1. A Change of Seasons
2. In The Name of God
3. Lines In The Sand
4. The Glass Prison

Crow

I dunno exactly where my top 4 stands right now but the last time I did a full ranking
1. Scarred
2. The Root of All Evil
3. Take The Time
4. The Mirror

could easily switch TTT and TRoAE around tbh, I adore both
turns out signatures are fundamentally broken now so here's my passive-aggressive signature about signatures instead

These are in no particular order:

1. Outcry
2. The Dance of Eternity
3. Far From Heaven
4. Finally Free

I really love Outcry because of it's anthemy-sounding chorus, the guitar is just so powerful, and I love how it pairs up with the orchestral keyboard sounds, which sounds even better when the chorus comes in a second time. It just sounds so uplifting and soulful. The instrumental section is just crazy, and it blew my mind when I first listened to it.

The Dance of Eternity is a very confusing song on first listen, some parts were epic, like the rising shredd-y riff, or the bass solo. Some parts just sounded outright ridiculous, like the ragtime solo, or when the main song theme comes in a second time, but with the guitar as lead, followed by an even wackier sounding atonal riff. I don't know how they managed to fit the bass into that riff either. It's also a blast to play on bass as well. It's like a full arm workout.

Far From Heaven hits me on a personal level, at least the way I interpret it, and will always hold a high place in my top favorite songs ever.

Finally Free is such a catchy and emotional song in general. The chorus is memorable, and the lyrics are memorable. I really love the scene they produced at the end of the song, as if it was being played on a radio. The sound effects they added really make it easy for you to draw a scene in your head of what's going on.

Then: "Open your eyes, Nicholas!"

"DUAH!"

Man, you've got great taste....we almost have the same list! Only difference is, I have BAI instead of ACOS. But I definitely considered ACOS.

Awesome job man. That was the first thing I thought when I saw this thread. I was like "isn't this in the wrong section?" until I realized what it actually meant.
