I got a feeling we'll get commentary and I base that on absolutely nothing.

By commentary, do you mean me talking really loudly next to your TV as you watch the BluRay? Then yes, perhaps.

That would be awesome and it have been awesome in earlier releases. But, based on huntch, I think that was MP's idea and he was the driver for those. He was the one explaining all the details and doing most of the talking.

Shadow2222

I am beginning to think that whatever bonus features that are on this release aren't very noteworthy or expansive, as we are 6 days from release with no information or marketing about them. If I remember correctly, they really touted Luna Park's documentary and Outcry multi-angle bonus features before release.

SystematicThought

Which a part of me feels like I was the only one let down by Luna Park's special features.

mikeyd23

Commentary would be cool, I'd also love to see a gear tour on stage, behind the scenes sort of thing... Each guy walks us through their gear/stage set up, etc.

Oh, I was significantly let down by the "documentary," among other features. However, I suppose it will be better than this possibly bare release.  :(

That's cool but in the end type that to youtube and it has been done a million times...

I've seen tour documentaries and gear features.  If there is no commentary, then I don't care about bonus features.

Haha I hear you guys, maybe I'm just a gear nerd that enjoys listening to that kinda stuff! I figure each guy usual tweaks their setup a little from tour to tour, maybe adds a component, takes one out or whatever. Mostly JP and MM I guess. So old gear tours from previous tours wouldn't be the same since the gear would be different.

I certainly agree about the commentary though, that would be the ideal bonus footage.

TheAtliator

Commentary is absolutely awesome, but I love any kind of bonus features. As I posted before, it was written in the description on Roadrunner that there will be bonus features. So there will be something.

rumborak

Well, I'm assuming they will count the opening video as a bonus feature.

bosk1

I got an in-person gear tour.  Does that count?

Again, I can confirm that there is no commentary this time around.  But I can also confirm that the band are VERY aware of how much we like commentaries, and whether it ends up happening or not, there is at least interest in doing them in the future.

It is.  But interestingly, both the drum kit and Mr. Mangini are smaller in person than they otherwise appear.  :lol

The first time we saw DT live with MM, we were shocked when he stepped out from the cockpit and was so diminutive.

I always have a hard time telling when people are up onstage.  I did not realize how small he is until I met him after the show.

SystematicThought

What are the heights of the guys anyway? Aren't they all (except MM) around 5'10?

bosk1

That is probably about right.  I think JP is probably around 5'10", with the other guys being slightly shorter.

That seems right to me. And MP was shorter than the other guys too. Is there just something that makes shorter guys better drummers or something? :P

As for special features, I think we'll maybe get a short bit of backstage documentary, and maybe some of the projection videos.
I don't think it's going to be like Luna Park with extra songs, or anything like the 360 feature. We got a DVD only last tour with that stuff, so I think they're focusing on just making this an excellent concert DVD with the orchestra and anniversary setlist. Aside from a commentary, what more would we really want?

Now, THAT's why they didn't pick Minnemann!

So the drummer audition video was a scam! They just lined them up and picked the shortest.

SystematicThought

*JP right now*

"Shit, they finally caught on to how we picked Mangini..."

For the fellow Aussies out there, it looks like JB-Hifi has pushed back the release date to the 3rd of October (a week later than what the site originally said).

I just noticed that my purchase confirmation includes Breaking The Fourth Wall Digital MP3 Album.  Is this just going to be a slip inside the case, with a download code on it, or are they going to email us a link to download this concert, on release day?:

Probably.  I mean if you got long limbs it takes longer to reach your desired drum.

Then again, Neal Smith with Alice Cooper was pretty badass and he was like 6'6"

When I posted my M&G picture on FB one of my friends commented "They all look mad that you are taller than them."  I'm only 6'0" and I think James is 5'10-11" with the rest being shorter.

My friend and his brother did the M&G and they are both 6'4".  He was wearing a college basketball shirt and Mangini even asked him what position he plays (even though he doesn't play sports).  He also stepped on JLB's foot accidentally.

I think the latter.

Well well, we lucky Finns get it tomorrow! Am I excited? Yes, yes I am!  :tup ;)

I hope this isn't true. I want the FAS opening included in the main show! Also the credits should contain the Easter Egg!
