I would rather see an entire set dedicated to the album they're promoting. All the time. So if it is a DT12 tour, they should play all the songs in DT12 in all the shows of the tour. The same goes for the next album.
I think the amount of new material in the current setlist is good, because not every fan is in love with the new album, and DT have released 12 records so there are lots of old songs to play. Of course not many albums are represented in the set at the moment, but you know what I'm talking about? Playing 2/3 of DT12 and plenty of old stuff is a good balance IMO. They haven't become a nostalgia act that only plays one or two new songs, but they play enough music from the previous albums to (try and) keep everyone happy.

Of course it makes sense to play an album in full if all the songs flow into each other and/or there's a unifying concept (see: SFAM), but apart from occasions like that I don't think it's a great idea to play all of your new record on tour when your band has such a long history.

For me it's option 1 without a second thought. I still recent that I didn't go to the second show the first time they came down here since they actually played SFAM FML!

I think "not everybody likes the new album" would be a rubbish reason to downplay it! Always push forwards. If it had completely bombed, yeah, fine, but... live in the present tense! There's always someone who doesn't like everything - this album's gone down no worse than any other DT album, and much, much better than several. (Awake included - that was massacred on release!) DT12 is who they are right now, the fans who like it will come and those who don't will expect it nonetheless.

I don't believe that's what they're doing, I think they just wanted to use the longer set to do something they wouldn't have been able to in ninety minutes - note that they're playing about the same amount of DT12 as they played of BCSL on the Progressive Nation tour - but, I think it would be wrong for them to make the decision on the basis that, "Welp, not everyone likes the album, let's just play Awake." Awake might be who they were 20 years ago, but DT12 is who they are right now, and that's way more important.

I have to go with the 12 Step Suite.  Bigger picture-wise, it's not something I am craving to see.  But of the options in this poll, that would be my preference.  I love SFAM.  I'm kind of surprised I didn't manage to burn a hole in my LSFNY DVD or CD's from listening to them so much.  But therein lies the issue.  Even though actualy seeing something live for myself is different than seeing it on a video, I've gotten my fill of it as an entire piece.  While I wouldn't mind seeing it live, I don't feel like I need to either.

For the third option, it is plenty good.  I have never actually been to a show where ACOS was played, and I would love for that to happen.  But while I don't dislike the AMBI suite, and I acknowledge that it is even better live than on album, I do not have much desire at all to see it played again.  Learning To Live is a great song, but not enough to tip the balance.

Which brings us to option #2.  I've seen The Glass Prison.  I would love to see it again.  I have not seen The Shattered Fortress and would love to.  I have not seen the songs in between, but wouldn't mind a one-off of seeing them do the transitions between all the songs and seeing them fit them all together.  So that is what I am going with.

I'm with you on this.  I've always thought that taking all the songs into a set, working out the transitions etc. would be awesome.  I would even get an EP of this.  To me, this is the most glaring unfinished work that Mike left.
