I was just hearing this one and then I remembered this topic..

-The chorus in Anna Lee.. Specially this part: "She keeps hoooooolding on... Hoooolding ooooon to youuuuuuuu..."
-Oh, and THAT solo...

Now I want them to play this song.. It's really nice, and is not even in the forbidden ones' group (TAMP? / Repentance? / TBoT?)..

ToT-147

I always forget about ACOS when I propose to remember every song in every album.. Here three moment for this classic epic:

-The beginning of the song.. Yeah, right at 0:00 I'm already feeling some great stuff..
-The riff that starts The Darkest Winter..
-Another World..

Scarred - the "Do you feel you don't know me anymore?" section. Some of the best lyrics they've ever done.

Lost Not Forgotten - Rudess key solo. It's seriously the best he's ever done and screams prog heaven to me

Outcry - the little piano piece towered the end of the song. Seems a bit shoe horned into the song, and I wish they'd expand a bit because it's such a nice melody but so short.

Ambient part in The Looking Glass?
me too!

then i could say the ending of ITNOG, the ending of TCOT (the only part i really like of that song, to be honest) Solitary Shell and, of course, the piano solo on blind faith!

Exactly! Although for me it's far from being his best solo overall, the first note and the rundown immediately after is definitely the best and coolest starting of any JR solo.

ToT-147

Another one: Finally Free..

At 2:49 (the drum fill and "Feeling good this friday afternoon...").. The bells part (4:00) and the end (7:22 - 9:22)..

It's actually kind of the few Kevin Moore-esque solos he's done. Maybe that's why I like it so much...

One that I haven't seen mentioned yet is All For The Ride:  the final "I don't believe that we're in this alone.  I believe we're along for the ride..." gets me good.

Touché. Damn autocorrect. Along...

Pingvin

I'm surprised that nobody mentioned "There's no one to take my blame..."

54_diplomats

Too many to list lol

-  Take the Time intro (dat keyboard)
- Metropolis in general. The sleigh bells, "swimming in a lake of fire", the outro...
- Learning to Live. The final 3 minutes get me every single time. Those final moments are so damn powerful.

- Innocence Faded. The soft parts of the song and of course the "wearing apathetic displays," section.
- Voices. "Like a scream but sort of silent..."
- Scarred. The soft part of the song + the guitar solo.

- A Change of Seasons. A lot of it honestly. "Oh come let us adore him." and pretty much all of Crimson Sunset.

- Line in the Sand. The guitar solo and the vocal section that comes after it.

- Most of the Metropolis throwbacks in Scenes from a Memory get me.
- Strange Deja Vu. "Tonight I've been searching for it..."
- Home. "Decadent Scenes from my Memory."

- The Root of all Evil's chorus.

- The Count of Tuscany's intro and outro

ThatOneGuy2112

I relistened to Octavarium recently. One moment that must be mentioned: The Root of All Evil's chorus.

genome

-The ending of Breaking All Illusions, from "Karma"... that chord movement just slays me every time!
-Razor's Edge solo, but that's kind of a given.
-The Count of Tuscany's solo from 10:18 onwards through the ambient bit.
-The Overture on 6DOIT from 6 minutes, the Genesis-y bit with the droning bass notes and chords moving on top - I was brought up on Genesis so I love that kind of stuff. I suppose the ending to Losing Time counts as well as it's the same progression.

PixelDream

The entire last half of Octavarium, but especially Intervals.

I do!  :tup

And also:

"Passion glows within your heart
Like a furnace burning bright
Until you struggle through the dark
You'll never know that you're alive"

Enalya

There is too many and it'd take me too much time to list, but I still miss the breakout in Honor Thy Father after 4:48 :metal
Gives me so much energy every time.

Oh shit, I still listed some that came to mind now:
- The Count of Tuscany, end vocals almost bring me to tears
- About To Crash (Reprise) of Score, which I watch with wide open eyes every time
- Octavarium of Score, instrumental part + vocals that end in '-variuuuuuuum'
- Metropolis I, 'It can only take place, when the struggle between our children has ended'
- Blind Faith, 'Sick of all of this, the suffering and we just carry on'

And much more :hefdaddy

ToT-147

I forgot this one.. Chills EVERYtime..

"Our deeds have traaaaaveled faaaaaaa-a-a-ar
What we have been is whaaaaaat we aaaaare..."

[and then the final chorus... just amazing feelings]

"Aaaaaaaall that we learn thiiiiiiis time
(What we have been is what we are)
Is caaaaaaaarried beyond thiiiii-i-is life..."

Sorry but what the fudge is that supposed to mean????

For me the moment that sticks out is the instrumental in metropolis part 1. It's just soooo......on the money.

They keyboard solo in Home is just all kinds of awesome. I think that is JRs best solo in DT.

The instrumental at the end of Fatal Tragedy.

The way JLB sings the line "Driven blindly by our sins, misled so easily" from the Root of all Evil.

Voices guitar solo.

The Lines in the sand intro.

God there's so many!
