JP already confirmed that IT will be played:

I visited a local library and there was the latest issue of a music mag that included an intie with James and JP. There was a lot of talk about the split with MP and not a lot of new info on DT12, but JP said they'll play some longer and more challenging songs on the upcoming tour and he guaranteed that Illumination Theory will be in the setlist.
Great to hear that they'll film another DVD on this tour!

Would have guessed Montreal, but since that is the first gig of the NA tour, I doubt the band would feel comfortable DVDing it.  Perhaps somewhere on a summer/fall leg then?

Actually, the fist gig of the NA tour is Toronto. But being the SECOND gig of the NA tour, I also doubt that's where it will be filmed.

:lolpalm: No thanks!
It would be better if JR played it on the Zen Riffer with a layered accordion/mandolin patch, while the big screen showed scenes from Lady and the Tramp.

I'm sorry, I just spoiled the surprise for the upcoming tour. My bad.

I only do 3D video. Several people contribute to the overall video show.

Lady and the Tramp 3D confirmed!

Very excited for the new DVD, I'm confident it'll wash away the sour taste LALP has left in my mouth. I wonder if they do it again so soon because of all the problems they've had with LALP, or it's purely just a financial decision. DT12 will be amazing live and, because of all the complaints and since he said he'll be getting thicker cymbals, I expect to hear the best MM drum sound yet.

Where did he say that? That sounds very interesting!

Onno

Aww, that's too bad. I kinda was expecting it already, but I was hoping for pretty much any other DT epic, especially ACOS or Octavarium.

This too, if that's true then I hope he'll get some good sounding cymbals. I really dislike the Zildjian crashes he has now, though I don't expect him to change brands.
I'm hoping that the next DVD will sound better than LALP...

QuoteMangini: Yes. The main modification is that I'm getting rid of my two extreme bass drums. I had a huge bass drum, a bass drum #4, to my left side, and bass drum #3, to my right for dynamics purposes. I have replaced these with trigger bass drums where I can make those kick drum shells make any sound I want. And so, with the need for percussion in certain songs, I need this. That way, I don't have to carry around a tympani with me. I don't have to carry around a glockenspiel, cowbells or a set of Vibraslaps. I can just make these trigger pads trigger any sound I want. I've also thickened up the cymbals a bit too.

Hourglass Prison

I figured they'd play Illumination Theory, but I guessed that they would use a string section live, although Rush kinda just did that. Doesn't matter either way, just as long as I get to hear it! :D

Who is that in your avatar ??

It would be so expensive to tour with a full orchestra. Just saying...
My latest concept album "IV: Timber" IS OUT NOW!
