Does the "Along for the Ride" tour seem a bit expensive to anyone?

Don't forget the fact that this is an evening with DT, no support act so a longer set from DT themselves does mean you get more for your ticket than previous tours. For me they're more or less the only band I want to make sure I see so the price isn't a big issue.

In the Netherlands we get an aftershow of New Keepers of the Water Towers apparently (not familiar with them), so I guess a 3-hour show and another band afterwards makes up with the higher price (I think it is like 10 euro's more than the last time, I'm not sure).

Daso

The band is even working with Lasse Hoile, who has worked for a long time with Steven Wilson. No wonder the tour is expensive, they are going all out on visuals apparently.

Well, the buddies I was gonna go with pulled the plug, so it looks like I'm definitely not going now.
 Why should this stop you??  I go to quite a few shows alone if no family/friends have interest.  Why should others' lack of good music taste prevent you from enjoying your favorite bands?     Besides, once the show starts how much chatting are you doing with your friends anyway?

Not to mention that sometimes it's easier to score a sweet seat when you're only looking for one...

I believe Lasse Hoile has done video work in the past for DT too. There does seem to be more focus on visuals this tour though, with a lot of contributors, and probably a few surprises too.

While it's ok to compare 2014 prices to 2005 ones, it certainly doesn't make much sense. Have you ever heard of Inflation? The prices are gonna go up every year... I don't wanna even think how much (it was far less than now) I paid for the electricity and oil in 2005...

Here, in Toronto, it's actually cheaper for the actual tickets. Last time around the tickets were $100, this time around it's $95, but the nosebleed section is $42, and I don't actually remember there being a price difference last time. As far as I recall, they were $100 no matter where you sat.
But the VIP packages were $25 more this time, than they were last time.

I got a Gallery seat for $68, and most of the seats listed on Massey Hall's website were roughly that price, I guess you bought your tickets from a different site? I did see some $42 tickets, but they were for the very very off to the side seats in both the Gallery and Balcony, possibly even the Floor too.

Manchester tickets are around £60 (~$80-90) and I really want to go with it being my first DT show (even though I don't like the New album) so I'm going half reluctantly.

I spent $58 each for seats in the loge. I found it odd that it was the same price for seats way up front on the floor, but it's ok. It's my son's first show and I want him to be able to see. By the way, has anyone here sat up there before? I'm used to being on the floor, but I'm hoping since we're up up and away from the band people actually use their chairs.

Seems we guys from SE Europe get away with lower prices. The current DT ticket price is 37 $, although I got mine for less, 22 $ because the promoter gave a 50% discount for the first week after Croatia entered European Union. I'll be going to Slovenia the day after, there the ticket cost me about 47 $......

Lucky us :P It probably have to be something about the living standard. DT ticket for this tour isn't even much more expensive than for other famous bands considering it's An Evening With...

My ticket for the boston show was 53$ total. 45$ for the ticket plus fees.

Well I don't know when they'll hit up Latin America, but I went to Costa Rica back in 2012 to see them and the tickets were $45, $90 and I think, but can't really remember if $210 for meet & greet and early entrance to the show.

sylvinception

Ok, in France I paid my ticket 62 euros so === >>> 83 $.

A bit expensive maybe, but compared to other "big" rock bands it's fine!! :metal
