Well no, they're not literally 'Gregorian' chants so to speak, but it sure as hell sounds like one

No, it really doesn't at all.  It's just a choir patch.

I'm sorry I don't mean any offence but I've always been interested and listened to quite a few Gregorian chants before because I find them quite soothing, and I think they tend to have some of the most effective utilisation of simple chord progressions and beautiful suspensions in the transitions. That's really cool if it's just a keyboard patch and I want it because I've never found a 'vocal patch' that sounds so organic and 'Gregorian'.  :lol :P

It's good to see some friendly disagreement over a part of BITS that most either love or just tolerate. I'm finding the 'Shamanic chants' are growing on me more each time I hear them, in relation to the choral intro build-up.

Appreciate your discussions guys, as I'm more used to other music forums with only occasional feedback.

I would like it more if Portnoy did it!  :neverusethis:

I love them. Very eery and atmospheric, and set the stage perfectly for the crunching guitar riff intro.

I'd have to say that Bridges has the best keyboard patch/sound effect/atmospheric intros of any DT song prior to Behind the Veil. It sets Bridges theme up perfectly. Love it. :tup
