I was a diehard fan when i was younger(2006-2010), but nowadays i don't listen DT as much as i did before. But i still love them, and always will. :tup

So i guess i'm somewhere between casual fan and a fairly big fan, every now and then i spin their music and of course check the new material when it comes out. And naturally go to watch their shows in Helsinki/ Finland, when i'm able

Fairly big fan. I was a diehard in 2009/10, but I've discovered a lot of new music and my tastes have changed a bit, so I don't listen to DT as intensely anymore. However, I still follow them actively and buy the new releases when they come out (I don't have LALP yet, but I'll get it soon).
All of this.
Yup, basically.

When I discovered DT in 2000  , I was a diehard fan until they released systematic chaos. After that there was couple of years that I really wasn't interested in the band.
When MP left and there was the search for new drummer, I got excited again!
DT has always been one of my favourite bands , but I'm slowly starting to realize that they won't ever again be the band I fell in love with..
And by saying that I mean  that  When I listened to SFAM  for the first time, I felt like I had never heard anything like this.. After that came SDOIT and I again felt the same again!

Ruba

A casual fan. I own all of their studio albums (two copies of SC, because I saw a cheap copy with Chaos in Progress), and listen to the band quite often, but I'm far from a diehard.

I'm a pretty new fan so I'm still in the die hard phase, so I picked that, but I'm listening to them more sparingly lately as I discover other great bands. Still would classify my DT listening habits as "heavy rotation," though.

I would say option 2. I still listen to them frequently and follow the band closely, and I certainly buy all their releases.  But I don't listen to them as much as I used to, too many other good bands out there!

Prog Snob

I've been a fan since I & W, but became a die-hard fan after Awake came out.

?

I bet (most of) those who would think option 4 describes them the best don't even visit the DT side anymore :P

I thought about that after the fact. That's very true.

Still my favorite band, though they may not have my full attention as they did in my youth.

Die Hard With A Vengeance. Been listening to them in heavy rotation for a little matter of 24 years.

I hope I'm able to say the same thing 19 years from now.

Probably the 2nd option. I still listen to them most days, but my "obsessive" phase is over now (that place is now occupied by Steven Wilson). Like, I still don't have three of their albums (WDADU, TOT & SC), but I'm in no rush to get them. But I still got the butterflies in my stomach when things were announced during the build-up to DT12, which is a good sign that I still really love this band.

I don't think you have to be obsessed or listen everyday to be a diehard. I would say its more of a thing when you never move on from the band and still include them in your listening on a regular basis.

Die hard fan doesn't even begin to describe me, but thats the best option so Die hard fan.

El Barto

Somewhere between casual and not much. I still enjoy plenty of their older stuff, but aside from ItPoE, they haven't really done anything to knock me on my ass for quite some time. I was largely into them for their live shows the last few albums, and even those have become something of a disappointment for me. I'll still go to see them once a tour (if they come through Dallas), and I'll give new albums a spin or two to see what I think, so I went with casual, but it's a far cry from what I thought of them 5/10 years ago.
