I started listening to dream theatre in 2009 and my first album was SFAM. Ever since I have been listening to it non-stop with the exception of a 4-6 month break I took in between.

I see people here get sick of it and stop listening to it for years.. but not me! I listen to at least 3 songs from it everyday.. and I truly can not understand why after nearly 5 years I'm still enjoying as if I just discovered it. I should be sick of it by now..

I guess it's just that damn good to me. I'm having "Hello Victoria, so glad to see you my friend" tattooed pretty soon.

I fired SFaM up right when DT12 came out and it was like a breath of fresh air. I couldn't believe how inspired the playing was.

SFAM is full of story and emotion, varying with insane instrumental parts, really good. Discovered DT only three months ago and wonder if I'll ever stop listening to it anyway

I listened to it for a week straight when it came out just to take it all in.  I still listen to it regularly.

'Scenes from a Memory' is my most listened-to album, and I never get sick of either. Even my favourite moments, which I've rewound and listened to to death (the outtro of "Fatal Tragedy", the second halves of "Beyond This Life" and "Home", the middle-section of "Strange Deja Vu"...) still never fail to lose their flavour. And whenever I listen to the album start-to-finish, I always discover something cool that I didn't notice before, and end up having an even greater appreciation for the album by the time I reach then end.

And you still can't spell the band name correctly. :neverusethis:

On topic, Scenes is pretty middle-of-the-pack for me. I really can't get behind the story and the album just feels like less than the sum of its parts, even though I like most of the songs individually, except maybe for "The Dance of Eternity".

Actually I did spell it correctly.. then I got the little red line underneath that suggests you spelt it incorrectly.. I "corrected" it thinking I had spelt it incorrectly and that now it was spelt correctly...

Confusing lol.

Ignore that line. It appeared because you used the American spelling whilst having your spell check set to UK English. They're both correct, but Dream Theater are an American band whose trademarked name is spelt the American way, making it the only correct one in this context ;).

Even after almost 15 years, it still sounds fresh and unique. Simply a fantastic album!

Same with me, after a decade or so of having discovered it. In particular, Strange Deja Vu. It's always the second pre-chorus of that song that gets me... "today I am searching for it..."  :heart

I loved at first, got tired of it then now I'm back to enjoying it more than ever. I would love another concept album but I doubt they could come close to SFAM.

Pretty much every vocal melody on the album is interesting and memorable, actually, which is an incredible feat for a concept album.

Still love it!Listen to it about once a month.I also listen alot to the live version from New York as it contains some extra improvisation.

Best DT album ever, and one of the best albums ever made, period. I never ever get tired of it.
