I still find the s/t weird but whatever.

Any good names ?   The obvious is Illumination Theory following the Octavarium name (last track, epic).

Restless Angels would have been cool to me also.

BlobVanDam

Yeah, Illumination Theory would have worked well with the existing cover, and it's a cool name. I'll go with that. :tup

Illumination Theory would have been a good name.  "False Awakening" could have been cool title, and also fits in pretty well with the album's themes.

Enigma Machine would also have been a cool title, but to me it would seem odd for an instrumental to be the "title" track in either case.

I'd say False Awakening or maybe Behind The Veil. Or maybe, just maybe, Dream Theater.

The Embracing Circle or Surrender, Trust & Passion

Dream Theater worked just fine, but Illumination Theory would have been a great choice as well. I would have liked The Bigger Picture too.

Majesty

That would also have been a good name for FAS, aside from being too close to Majestic, the short instrumental opening track from Journey's Evolution album.

" The Pursuit Of Truth "

Name one of the movements of a song after it.

Robber Soul

Either The Looking Glass or Illumination Theory.

Illumination Theory does go well with the album cover as there is a light beginning to peek out from behind the world.

I like "Illumination Theory" as well, but if I were to go with a single word title, definitely "Surrender" considering it's in three songs' lyrics.

I would have called it "Don't get your hopes up."

Illumination Theory would have been a great name. In fact, I still think they shouldn't have self-titled this one... I mean, every album for DT is a "this is DT to the max, it has all the elements that make us be...it has progressive elements, it has the metal elements and it has the melodic elements." It's been that way with every DT release since Octavarium, and it just doesn't feel that right to me to self-title this one. I get the decision and I can understand why they did it, but it felt a little lazy to me.

Because DT like to semi-copy Genesis...

1 - first album rights belong to someone else, so re-issues are hard to do unless they're money-grabbing, and even so, the first album isn't one most fans listen to.
2 - Their 2nd to 6th albums are often considered their glory days, some of their best and greatest songs are on these albums, and prog fans rejoice when songs from this era are played live, well, the good ones.
3 - Their 6th album is a double album!! Bam...that's all.
4 - Albums 7 and 8 are often lumped together, in Genesis' case it's because they're both 4-man band era albums, and for DT it's that they're the last two albums for that label and kind of sit outside of their top-tier albums for many fans, a bit of a downward slope from their 5th and 6th albums, but there's good stuff on there.
5 - 9th albums are...well...hotly debated for being good. I mean, I like ATTWT and SC, but I know there's a large amount of fans of each band who overlook each band's 9th albums.
6 - 10th albums are good, some what return-to-form albums and also an end of an era for each - well in DT's case, it's the last album with Portnoy, and for Genesis it's their last album before going nearly all-out-pop in many aspects. Many Genesis fans consider Duke as the end of their prog-era.
7 - 12th album... SELF-TITLED.

Hopefully this doesn't mean we get DT's version of Invisible Touch next time...well...if it gets them a #1 hit single, sure, why not?

Rhayader

I don't know, but this album certainly doesn't reprent Dream Theater to me because they achieved the worst album of their career.

With this opinion, I think Rhayader is pretty much alone.

I like how they used to use something from their lyrics as an album title. Like "Images & Words" and "Awake", so I would vote for anything like that.

Darkest Hour
it fits well, it also creates a nice contradiction with Illumination Theory.
