It just has a different style. Those forums and these have different goals. You can prefer one over the other, and that's fine. You can also go to both; I know a bunch of people are members at both. Personally, I

I guess I don't understand the logic there. I hang around here because of the discussions and the people. Whether it's official or unofficial, at this point, doesn't make any difference. I'm not here because it's unofficial, and I'm certainly not going to bail if suddenly became the official forums. I personally think these forums reflect better on Dream Theater than the official ones do.

I think the idea is, if it became official, the problems that stemmed from it before would resurface.

Ah. I guess that's possible, but the staff is different now, as well as the band members. Well, one key member in particular. There's actually no reason to just assume that history will repeat itself, and a few reasons to believe otherwise. No reason to bail "just in case" IMO.

This, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that forum, and many people post at both places. But they are basically catering to two completely different styles, and that is OK.
