What is the best three-song run on the self-titled album?

False Awakening Suite/The Enemy Inside/The Looking Glass
The Enemy Inside/The Looking Glass/Enigma Machine
The Looking Glass/Enigma Machine/The Bigger Picture
Enigma Machine/The Bigger Picture/Behind The Veil
The Bigger Picture/Behind The Veil/Surrender To Reason
Behind The Veil/Surrender To Reason/Along For The Ride
Surrender To Reason/Along For The Ride/Illumination Theory

Well we haven't seen one of THESE polls since like June, but I figured I'd start one up for the new album! I've allowed it so you can change your vote if you wish to, just in case any of you change your minds later on!

Prediction - I sense a lot of votes for option 7, STR/AFTR/IT.

I will say, however, Option 5 is pretty damn good, too. That run of songs just melts my face off in no way many other three-song runs have on the past few albums (where a side-length epic wasn't involved, like Option 7 here, or the last 3 songs on 8VM...yes I do like NE, it's catchy...).

BlobVanDam

The first three, because it has two songs in a row I really like.

Elite

Number 3.

The Looking Glass & The Bigger Picture are awesome. And I really like Enigmachine too.

Surrender To Reason/Along For The Ride/Illumination Theory

While AFTR is one of the weakest on the album, the other 2 are in my top 3, so it's a pretty easy decision for me.
Whoaaaahh, ohhh, ohhhhh. Whoaaaahh, ohhhhh, ohhhhhh. Waaah, ahhh, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaowwwwww

Prog Snob

Yeah, Option 7 is the best I can think of, though you should make it best three song run with an option of adding The Bigger Picture to any run.  ;)

Option 7 for me, IT is so strong its hard to not vote for the grouping that its in! Option 5 was a close second though...

I am the one person at the moment who voted option 6. But I'm only two listens in, so what do I know? :loser:

I think in terms of flow, variety, and pure epicness, I have to go with Bigger Picture/Beyond the Veil/Surrender to Reason. That group of songs seems like it fits in its own little niche of mid-length, epic proggasms.

My three favorite songs aren't grouped together...so this is tough for me.

1. The Bigger Picture
2. The  Looking Glass
3. Behind the Veil

I have no idea which option to pick.    TLG and TBP are bridged by EM.   TBP and BTV are right next to each other, but I have to include EM or STR...neither of which have grabbed me that much yet...although they are both amazing.

Think I'm going to go with the TLG/EM/TBP option.   Even though EM is not as good, that is the only run that contains both of my top two songs.   But I would say that it was almost a coin toss with TBP/BTV/STR.

TheOutlawXanadu

The Bigger Picture/Behind The Veil/Surrender To Reason

Hayden

For me, it's "The Enemy Inside"/"The Looking Glass"/"Enigma Machine".

On a double-playthrough, though, is would definitely be "Illumination Theory"/"False Awakening Suite"/"The Enemy Inside". But that is kind of cheating, I guess ::).

The Stray Seed

RuRoRul

The one that includes Illumination Theory.

Honestly I think Along For The Ride is unfortunately placed... sometimes I forget it's coming after Surrender To Reason. If TBP - BTV - STR led into Illumination Theory it'd be better imo. That 3 song run is probably the best on the album overall, but Illumination Theory alone beats them so I voted for the last one.

You could always change the running order for your own pleasure. ;D

This one was easy. Option 5, TBP, BTV, and STR.

It was this run of songs which almost had me in tears of joy during the first listen to DT12. As I've said before, these 3 songs revived the album for me after hearing TLG, and after a very underwhelming experience during the first listens to FAS and EM.

A real challenge for me would be having to do this with SFaM! I think just about any 3 consecutive songs on that masterpiece could be legitimate answers for me.  :metal

OsMosis2259

I know I am in the minority but I went with Option 4!

aprilethereal

TBP/BTV/STR for me. Followed closely by BTV/STR/AFTR. AFTR and TBP are my favourites on DT12 (at least currently) and pretty much tied, although at the moment, I prefer TBP by a little bit.

Juular

The Bigger Picture/Behind The Veil/Surrender To Reason for me as well. BTV is probably my favourite song on the album.
