BTW, do you guys think winning this poll would increase DT's chances of getting nominated or even winning a Grammy in the next awards?

I don't think it will matter at all. I think it's just another useless internet poll. But it couldn't hurt to spam a win anyway.

If so they would probably get nominated for TEI instead of the more prog style of some other tracks (the epic for instance). I mean why nominate the band last time for an average track when BITS and BAI existed?

jonnybaxy has a few good points, but it was so predictable that the forum would jump him.

Good.  I'm glad the forum jumped him.  If everybody here shared his sentiments, I would be gone in a heartbeat.  I for one would rather spend my time in the company of friendly pop fans than elitist prog snobs who think they're better than other people just because of the music they listen to.

If you don't like pop music, fine, that's your right.  But it's not your right to pass judgment on everyone who does enjoy pop music, and that's exactly what jonnybaxy was doing.  He wasn't just bashing the music, he was bashing the people

EDIT: Bah, I'm sorry to bring the drama to a new page.  I had a root canal today, so I'm a little pissy.  But I'll shut up now.

Still awesome that DT is winning this thing.  :metal

It's cool, Jaffa, and I completely agree with you. Music is music.

I'm impressed that DT is leading at the moment. It was another thing to beat Metallica or whatever, but Miley Cyrus? Wow.  :metal

While I think that jonnybaxy went about sharing his opinion the wrong way, I do think there's a kernel of truth in what he's saying. I love a lot of pop music, and there are a lot of great pop artists, but there's a significant handful of pop that's complete rubbish. At the same time, the same could probably said for any genre! With pop, I think it seems a little worse because the music is a little more manufactured, so to speak.

King Postwhore

Listen.  I love prog, but I also love a well crafted 3 minute pop song.  I think people here get mixes up with pop = popular which is the furthest from the truth.  There is plenty of good pop music out there.  In any genre, there is good music and bad music.  A lot of prog fans get mad when someone says prog music sounds all the same.  That's the furthest from the truth just like others saying pop is crap.

We are quite formidable on our own, but I'm not sure we're quite that formidable!

And let's hope she doesn't. She has about 10x the fans of DT on FB.

If you update the page two times in a row you can vote again immediately

I can't vote anymore? I haven't voted since yesterday?

Bolsters

It's a strange poll. Sometimes I can sit and revote as much as I want, but then I'll leave it for several hours and when I come back, it automatically comes up with the results and no amount of refreshing will allow me to revote. I don't think I'm being tempbanned or anything either, I usually only vote 3-5 times when I can be bothered to do it.

Kotowboy

I cant vote anymore either :p

Hopefully we've done enough.

TheAtliator

just come back in a half hour or maybe more and try refreshing and closing and opening a few more times, and it should come back.

lonestar

I've been blocked out from my phone, computer, and tablet. Gonna have to start spamming from the three puters at work. Maybe I'll lift the moratorium on cell phones in the kitchen for a day and get the gang voting  :lol

Chino

Im also locked out of voting. The Grammy people must be on to us...

For me, whenever it stops working, I just try a bunch of different things til it works again. This time I went on my other browser and then had to go to "more polls", then to our poll and refreshed it and it works again.

lonestar

Yeah, I've thoroughly beat the crap out of all those gimmicks, then again, I think I've voted a couple hundred times too. Usually when commuting, I read or something. For my three hours of commute time yesterday, I voted. :metal

Eh, the lead is still expanding as far as I can see. Maybe the teen girls who initially gave her the lead are already onto the next flavor of the month pop song.

That or they're just not obsessive/don't care like DTF does  :lol

If there's one thing DTF knows how to do, it's spamming internet polls.
