Illumination Theory  :)
Hehe, at the "Mothers for their children" section James is like "Man, I've bitten off more than I can chew, how am I gonna sing this every night?" His timing is also way off, I guess they'll need more time to adjust to this one. Other than that, great performance.

Yeah, I thought this too! His voice was really off in that part.

I think he a bit worn out having that section at the end of a long set. And I'm sure he'll improve over the course of the tour as he gets more comfortable with touring again.

False Awakening Suite and The Enemy Inside with a brilliant showing of our dear Blob's video...

My dick is so hard right now.
Great Scott, that intro video was amazing, watched it 3 times in a row. When the guy goes "OCTAVARIUM". :lol

Blob, I'm curious as to how you managed to make that WDADU guy animated and rotating/winking, based only on the album cover. Mind you, I know nothing about animation and the like :lol

Jinx

That whole intro vid is amazing. Like a living journey through the albums to the present day. I tip my hat to you Mr BVD  :yarr

Put very simply, I "traced" him in 3D to create a rough 3D model that matched up, then stuck the image back onto that model, and animated the model. It's pretty low tech, but it's the only way I could do it justice.

Mladen

Can a set list be more amazing than this?  :omg:

They are actually playing quite a good chunk of two of my favorite Dream Theater albums. I'll be the luckiest guy ever when I see Lifting shadows, Scarred and SDV - huge thumbs up to the band for finally playing SDV. Not to mention the epic encore.  :metal

The videos look cool so far. James is still warming up, though, but the rest of the guys are delivering. JP has grown quite a beard this time around.  ;D Also, Blob, that's one of the best intro videos I've ever seen, I couldn't remove the smile from my face while watching it.  :tup

RodrigoAltaf

On the intro video: REALLY cool idea to have rhe Octavarium ball crush the bridges of Systematic Chaos!!!

Tell us Blob, were you inspired by Miley Cyrus ' Wrecking Ball video when you put ut together???  :xbones

Just kidding, I loved that part!

Ah thanks Blob for the facts!

defiantly one of the best concert I have been to. Can't wait to see them again the UK. I'm on my way to airport now, but I will upload a few to YT and start uploading to mediafire :)

Kotowboy

No need to be defiant ;D

I like how Octavarium beats the crap out of Systematic Chaos..

Just like in reality. ;)

Onno

I just watched bits of the IT video. Man, James sure is off during the 'Rebels for their freedom' bit, but I'm sure he'll get better at that as the tour goes on.

wasteland

On the ADTOE tour it took James three legs of touring to seriously get awesome. Let's see how things develop this time!

?

I'm not going to watch any videos, but after reading these comments I'm starting to be happy my show is going to be the 32nd of the tour :D

Mind, usually the best performances within a leg come halfway through, almost never at the end. Vocally speaking of course.

hefdaddy42

Blob, that intro video was incredible.

Not sure why so many people are complaining about a lack of I&W.  For one thing, it was only one show, it's not like there will definitely be no I&W songs performed this tour.

For another thing, even if that were the case, if there was an album that has been played plenty enough over the years, it is I&W.  And it's my favorite album.  But those songs have been DONE.  It's OK if they aren't played this time, they have plenty of other great music.
Quote from: BlobVanDam on December 11, 2014, 08:19:46 PMHef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

nikatapi

Yeah Blob, the intro was awesome, gave me chills. Great job.

From the videos i've seen, the stage production is great, i like MM's new kit, and the band seems very excited. James was a bit meh but that's to be expected on the first show.

I don't know, I've read a few comments that says they won't be rotating songs much this time around - if at all. I'd like to see at least one live when I see them, I didn't get to see any from I&W in 2009.

We'll see in the upcoming shows if they pop up.

True, but the performances at the end of the tour will most likely be stronger than at the beginning.

Notice the cases for James' water bottle and thermos :lol

Tomislav95

I thought it's impossible they won't rotate setlist on Evening with but with this concept of new album + two albums anniversaries that is more likely. Also, I'd like to hear this same setlist next month with addition of StR and TBP.

Blob, seriously great intro video. Really. Love the transitions between albums. Love that you included ACOS. It ended perfectly.
Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Quote from: Stadler on February 08, 2025, 12:49:43 PMI wouldn't argue this.

Yes.  This better be included on the next DVD/Blu-ray release!
