I don't know what I can say really; it's just amazing.

Very Systematic Chaos mixed with a bit of ADTOE. Love the pinch harmonics that JP throws in. Mangini has definitely proven himself capable of being involved from concept to delivery.

Very happy DT fan  ;D

MM is KILLING it on the intro. I mean killing it. I love the song, it's a good, heavy rocker, it has the usual instrumental craziness you get from DT, but it's more streamlined and compact. Fucking awesome.

Anyone able to finish off the lyrics?

Over and over again
I relive the moment
I bury (I'm bearing?) the burden within
Open wounds hidden under my skin

Pain is real as a cut that bleeds
The face I see every time I try to sleep
Staring at me crying

CHORUS
I'm running from the enemy inside
Looking for the life I left behind
These suffocating memories are etched upon my mind
And I can't escape from the enemy inside

I sever myself from the world
and shut down completely
All alone in my own living hell
overcome with irrational fear

Under the weight of the world on my chest
I buckle and break as I try to catch my breath
Tell me I'm not dying

CHORUS
I'm running from the enemy inside
Looking for the life I left behind
These suffocating memories are etched upon my mind
And I can't escape from the enemy inside

I'm ??????
I'm a prisoner of regret
Between the flashbacks and the violent dreams
I am hanging on the edge

Disaster lurks around the bend
Paradise came to an end
And no magic pill
can bring it back again

CHORUS
I'm running from the enemy inside
Looking for the life I left behind
These suffocating memories are etched upon my mind
And I can't escape from the enemy inside

The snare sound is deep. riffs are good. style/vibe of the song is a bit like Labrie's solo. Going to listen to only one time and that will be it. Signature DT breakdown. Lot of stuff that reminds me of something of 8V, mostly the keyboard sections. Main riff is kinda like Count of Tuscany.

Chorus part is kinda average I guess, not super memorable.
Devour Feculence!

Megadeth's "Sudden Death" riff replicated a couple of minutes in. Not complaining :).

Chino

I can't listen to it. This is exactly how I'm feeling while looking through this thread at work right now.

Marion Crane

Labrie's vocals in the versus are embarrassingly too low.  Not a fan of the triggered snare and kick sounds.  I think the guitars are WAAAAAAYYY too loud.

nikatapi

Don't really like the mix but it is an internet stream so maybe it's heavily compressed. Snare sounds fake.
Not that excited, didn't really like the song.

Benedettosoxfan

Well it sounds like I thought it would, which is a great thing! Kinda sounds like Bridges in the Sky meets Megadeth. And now I just can't wait to see the absolute beastification Mangini puts on for the rest of the album!
Now to listen for the rest of the month.

That was alright. Definitely enjoyed the chorus. Drums were awesome too. Didn't find the whole thing spectacular, though. Then again, I felt the same away about CM, AROP and OTBOA and this is better than them already, so I'm not worried.

RodrigoAltaf

Drums are WAAAAAY higher in the mix than ADTOE.  :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal

LaBrie sounds like Mustaine in some of the verses. I like it A LOT so far!!!!

BlastParadigm

Just finished listening to it.
To simplify my emotions about this song: I LOVED EVERY SINGLE SECOND OF IT!

Time to listen to it 9001 more times

This is awesome!!! MM is really coming into his own.

Some may disagree, but I really like the snare choice/mix. Very pillow-y....almost sounds like an electronic kit reminiscent of Images And Words, namely Metropolis (but not flooded in reverb as was the "in" sound for older metal.)

Going to listen again...and again and again!!

A lot more in your face than what I was expecting! Especially since OTBOA had a more clean guitar song but I like it. I hope I listen to it more when I arrive home.
