That would be the full song. They didn't edit OTBOA either, and that was a much longer song.

I'm sure it will be the full song, and edit would be shorter than that (around the 5 minute mark). I was just thinking of the examples of CM and ARoP, which they did edit for the single release (unless I'm horribly mistaken).

I think I said somewhere that I have a feeling this will be quite a straightforward heavy song, in the vein of traditional metal (with few prog tendencies). I guess As I Am is closest to the kind of the vibe I'm feeling. Clearly this is based on nothing factual, but it's just what the title suggests to me.

Yes, it definitely is. The way the oval comes really close to the serif lines is the giveaway.

I found OTBOA to be the most dull single they've released. I think the "singles" from Octavarium were their best from the past decade.

And for me, OTBOA is one of the only songs from ADTOE that'll listen to consistently (the others being BAI and BTS).

I remember when the snipets for ADTOE were released. One was part of the first verse of BITS. It screamed generic DT sounding metal song to me. It wasn't until I heard the full song that I got to hear the wonderful chorus. So i guess not all of BITS is generic.

And by generic I don't really mean bad. I just mean that they don't really do anything too new. Most of the past 3 albums have been that way. It seems like DT has found their niche and they are sticking to it. I'm okay with that. They still put out some really great material.

I don't see anything generic about either song, especially TDEN. There's no other DT song like it. It seems like "generic" is being used as a synonym for "heavy". Come on, Implode. You've got 8 limbs to type with. You can do better than that!
