But that part in Misunderstood is really good.

I usually skip it once it gets to that point.  I love the song but the ending bothers me because it feels like stretching the song for the sake of stretching it and the scratching annoys me.

Maybe I am in the minority here.  If so....good call on Dream Theaters part to include it......but that section is not for me.

I think one of the main reasons Mangini's drums didn't stand out is because he did so much unison work off of other members' parts. He seems to really enjoy this on his own initiative, so I'm tempering my expectations of how much we'll hear on the new album as well. It might also explain a previous comment about the drums sounding triggered. He may be matching up with Jordan a lot.

Marion Crane

I think the main reason Mangini's drums were mixed so low is because it was the first DT record in a very long time not co-produced by a drummer

Bosk, I always enjoy reading your posts. It probably has something to do with the fact that I actually read what you post in Darth Vaders voice. For some strange reason, due to this fact, I can never bring myself to argue anything you say.

:lolpalm:  That's right, I forgot.

But my general point still stands.
:lol Fail bosky.

But in fairness, there are a few people without English as their native language whose use of it is really great, like Milena, Marco and the other Rich.

...I'm not in your list?

</3

Your impression of the INDONESIAn fans brings the time-averaged level of your English down, I reckon.

You think you're smart, huh?

...Alright, it's ok just because you're a drum god.

Something makes me thing I'm the Marco you mentioned. I feel flattered by that (another Brit praising my English skill? It must mean something!), but I think the other Marco deserves the praise more than I do. His posts, though at times overlooked by many, are always poignant and spotlessy phrased  :tup

I'm usually regarded as a South American with a decent level of English xD At least, I speak it fluently and write it decently. I may have an accent on the heavy side of mild though, hehe.

Shadow2222

hey yo I'm a native English speaker whats wrong with me haha lol. Love DT peace out!

I believe the reasoning behind many foreign speakers eventually becoming more fluent in English than a good majority of native ones is due to the fact that they take great care with their grammar and such while learning the language. Most native English speakers eventually have a tendency to simply take the language and its rules for granted, hence the simplistic structure and frequent misspellings found in such a casual environment as a message board. I find myself slacking off as well on here, even though I take great care when writing and editing my album reviews.

While I'm Canadian with Irish and French heritage, all of my posts actually have a South African accent.

I agree with the previous post about the multilinguists here, they are very fluent! :heart

The Heavy Side of Mild.

, a new novel by bestselling author Stephenie Meyer, chronicles the story of a young South American man navigating the North American progressive metal scene with the aid of a crazy pirate, a wise wizard, a guitar playing bear and a mysterious silent man from the orient.

LBC.

Based on the variety of tastes here, that's a pretty bold statement.

You gonna love this album.

I`m not gonna say anything else.

Do you have it...?
Doubt it. I've noticed that LBC. has a bad habit of stating things as though they're fact, when in reality he doesn't necessarily know what he's talking about.
My latest concept album "IV: Timber" IS OUT NOW!

All the hype is justified, it deserves the wait, and you got to hear it with an open mind.

It`s simple.

I don`t want to disturb anybody. I`m gonna be out of here until 9/24.

There will be official reviews, a single, and maybe snippets. I respect that.

Bye.

Well, I wasn't referring to entirety of your dog-self, just the vague fortune cookie hints.

And so he was gone as quickly as he had appeared. A shadow into the night. A memory of a snapshot in time.

But yeah, we'll see you on 9/24 then.

JayOctavarium

I was just thinking... What if I don't like this album at all? What if I hate it? Oh god....
