I decided to call it "three-track run" instead of "three-song run" since SDOIT is considerably longer than the other songs.

Personally, it's hard to pick for me but I had to go with the last three tracks of Disc 2. Just SO powerful, especially LT/GF.

Gah, tough call.  I went with the first three, but I could have just as easily gone with three or four other options.

gm5k

First three.  Don't really like Misunderstood(the only song on SDOIT I don't care for), but the first 2 tracks of the album are just that good.

Definitely going with the last three. It has so many of those excellent transitions that the song SDOIT is full of. Particularly when About To Crash (Reprise) kicks in from Solitary Shell. Oh, and then when it hits Losing Time/Grand Finale is just amazing. That movement is one of the reasons why I'm not ashamed to say that I'm in love with James LaBrie.

"Waaaaanting to escaaaape
She had created a way to survive
She learned to detach from herself
A behavior that kept her aliiiiiiiiiiiiive
HOOOOOPE... IN THE FACE OF A HUMAN DISTRESS..."

The Letter M

Went with TGP/BF/M. It's a great run and it was this or the last option of SS/ATC(R)/LT, but I like BF and M slightly more, and TGP is just awesome.

Unlegit

The Test That Stumped Them All / Goodnight Kiss / Solitary Shell. My three favorite parts from the title track. The first option is a close second.

Cool Chris

Maybe the grass is greener on the other side because you're not over there fucking it up.

BlobVanDam

TGP/BF/Misunderstood, but you're basically asking me to choose my favourite child here. How cruel! :lol

But that said, TGP/BF/Misunderstood is a damn near unbeatable run, for any album. :tup :tup

Daso

Went with the first one, although it was a tough choice against the second one.

Rattlehead

Blind Faith/Misunderstood/The Great Debate

Didn't really have to think about this one.

Doing it this way is goofy, as you should have done the title track as one song, which is the way I was gonna do it tomorrow, and still will now.  :coolio

Fair enough, but I gotta say, I like it better this way.  More interesting with eleven poll options than with just four.  Plus, for people like me who think that the title song doesn't necessarily flow that well from track to track, this is a nice way of letting us focus on the parts that DO flow well.

Woulda been far too predictable plus the title track is hardly one song despite whatever semantics people wanna use to ignore the clear-cut separations between the movements.

Whatever semantics you use to call it otherwise, the fact is that it is actually one song, whether you believe it flows as such or not.

I would have run this as two polls, one for each disc, since SDOIT is a separate disc. Sure, that makes the poll for the first disc pretty dull :lol, but it makes more sense to run the second disc on its own as the best 3 track/movement run.

mellotron_scratch

It seems I'm in a minority when I say Disappear/Overture/About to Crash. Love all of them

Misunderstood / TGD / Disappear. Two top 20 songs and one that's only slightly below. :)

Blind Faith/Misunderstood/The Great Debate. One of the best one-two-three-punches in the whole discog.

JPX

Well The Glass Prison and Blind Faith are two of my top 5 DT songs ever...so...easy choice here.

Gotta agree with this.
