How should we, as a fandom, abbreviate DT's 12th Album??

Pick One

DT12
DTDT
DTST
DTwelve
D12
DT^2
Other...
Depends on the track list/could use a definitive song title abbrev.

Dream Theater's first, and so far only, self-titled album. How do we go about abbreviating this album in the coming months and years? So far, it seems every album (with the exception of Awake) has had easy abbrevations:
WDADU
IAW (although I dislike the use of the ampersand here, since the title clearly shows the word "and")
FII
SFAM
SDOIT
TOT
8VM
SC
BC&SL (here the ampersand is used, so BCASL just looks odd)
ADTOE

...and now we've come to this.

I'd say DT12 works, considering it's simple and covers all the grounds. If we didn't have 8VM before it, it would look odd being the first to use numbers, but because of 8VM, I'm okay with using numeric characters in abbreviations. I'm also okay with DTDT.

Credit goes to lonestar for the idea to start a poll like this!

TAC

I thought DTDT, and clicked DT12. Whoops. I'm a numpty.

I came spontaneously with DTDT before reading it here, so that's my choice! :D

I'd add, though, that if the cover lends itself to an obvious nickname, that'd be neater than any of those. And even if it doesn't, we can force a nickname. But, yes, DTDT. Despite my vote.

S/T, like most other bands with self-titled albums.

I'm okay with DT12, DTDT, DTST. I kinda like typing DTST so I voted for that one.

I'm just going to call it the s/t, myself, since that's what I call all self titled albums.

Kinda seems like what they're saying anyway. Self titled album and if the Purple themed artwork indeed is it .....then the whole 'purple' them is near and dear to a certain x drummer. FMP

I first read that as "I'm just going to call it the shit, myself"

DTDT makes the most sense to me.  In the future I won't remember it's the 12th album unless I count up all of the releases.  For example, quick... tell me what was the band's seventh album?  The eighth album?  You gotta think about it.  DTDT is the best choice, in my opinion.

Really? I mean, maybe it's just me because I have a knack for remembering a band's whole discography, but it doesn't take much for me to remember the band's albums in order, or which release they were. Heck, the title of Octavarium is a dead give away, as is Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence. The others just sort of click right away if anyone asked me.

I voted for DT12.  Although if the cover art is simple and purple-themed, I'm hoping something along the lines of "The Purple Album" sticks as a name.  Even then, DT12 might still be better than DTP to abbreviate.

Deve

DT12 doesn't make me think of "Dream Theater's 12th album", it makes me think of "Dream Theater 2012". But that might just be me. Anyways, my vote goes to DTDT.

DT12 is the only option that makes sense. DTDT just looks odd.

I'd just like to say that I will abide by whatever the community decides. Unless I don't like it.

DT² hadn't it been for the fact that most people don't know how to write it on their computer.

Another_Won

Since the release the only correct one is simply "DT" since it follow the convention we have been using all along.  Most of the time when using any one of the other abbreviations it is in the context of talking about a Dream Theater album.

For example,
A thread going now is that ToT is the best album.  If I were to say, "I think DT will be better than ToT or FII" wouldn't be understand that based on the subject of the sentence?

Given the options for voting, DT12 makes the most sense.

that's what I think of when I see DT...

I like "Purple album" or "Violet album" but DT12 is faster to type.
