DT-Side Chat Thread v. The Blu-Ray is out so I changed the friggin' title

I don't know where to post this, so I'll put this here: I visited a local library and there was the latest issue of a music mag that included an intie with James and JP. There was a lot of talk about the split with MP and not a lot of new info on DT12, but JP said they'll play some longer and more challenging songs on the upcoming tour and he guaranteed that Illumination Theory will be in the setlist. Not surprising, I know, but it seems that a bigger epic like ACOS or Octavarium may be played, or then they'll just play a lot of 10-15-minute songs.

James and Matt Guillory also talked about Impermanent Resonance - James admitted he's probably the biggest metal fan in DT now that MP is gone, but also reminded that he loves a lot of poppy stuff as well. He also said he played IR songs to his DT bandmates in the studio and they enjoyed the album. James and Matt plan on touring after the DT album cycle is over.

That's cool, hope they'll come to Europe! And JLB played IR to the rest of DT and they liked it? I think JR has a bit of hate for growls though...

I just found out I'm going to be working directly with my ex for all of senior year. And I kind of hate him.

My advice is to just be as nonchalant as possible. He sounds like a tremendous arse who would want you to either show a lot of effort or to be wrecked up. Just acting like nothing up will probably make him angry.

My advice is act normal. You are a flirty kind? Act flirty. You are more withdrawn? Be so. Don't act differently than you usually do because he's in your same room. Maybe even greet him if you come across him, as him how he is doing and stuff. Just don't enhance anything, including ignoring him. Some particularly arse-y people take pride in seeing other people they damaged in the past act differently in their presence because of that. It feels like a trophy for them. Whether or not he's one of those people, I stand by my point. That's a good occasion to prove you moved on.

My friend has some old issues of Metal Hammer and in one of them there was a huge list of essential albums from different subgenres of metal. Jordan had picked some prog metal releases and one of them was Blackwater Park - he said he's not really into growls, but appreciates the musicianship. IR includes less harsh vocals than BWP, so I bet he could enjoy it. James said he played some of the songs and the other guys thought they were cool, so we don't know which songs he had picked.

European dates would be awesome and some of the musicians in James' band are from this side of the ocean, so it wouldn't be a ridiculous idea by any means. That said, I don't think Finnish dates would be too likely...

Thanks for the advice, guys (especially thanks Marco, that makes a load of sense)! I'll just act like my self then. I never was entirely comfortable with him, even when we were dating, so if there's a bit of discomfort there that'll be normal.

Well, people. I feel like shit right now and I have a lot of work to do. I was given the task to write down the structure of my thesis and the first chapter of it for tomorrow morning. The thing is, I was given the assignment at about 7PM, for tomorrow 10AM. After 10 hours of being at the university working on it. It's 10,41PM right now and I'm in the middle of one of my "Change Of Seasons" allergic attacks.
