Many years later than everyone else, I have discovered the joys of FaceBook.

?

I joined in late 2010 and thought I was late... :lol

?

I was at a grocery store and saw a really delicious chocolate cake that was 30% cheaper than normally (due to the close "best before" date), but unfortunately the package would've been totally crushed in my backpack :-\ At least it seems that I'm good at resisting temptation :D

I've once again been reminded why I hate shoe shopping :yeahright Having big feet sucks...

wasteland

What's your feet number? Mine's 45, at least under Italian standards.  :tup

?

Mine is 48 (the same system is probably used throughout Europe). It's hard to find a good pair of shoes, because at basically all stores 99,9% of them are
a) too small
b) ugly
or
c) unpleasant to walk

It would be MUCH easier if my feet weren't so massive, but luckily I managed to find decent shoes for autumn walking.

Holy shit, 48, that's pretty big man. Mine's only 44 fortunately.

By the way, just got back from the Night of the Prog festival in Loreley, Germany, with (amongst others) Steven Wilson, Devin Townsend and Opeth. Holy shit, that was fucking amazing! I even got to meet Mikael Akerfeldt who went out to chat with some fans! Got a picture with him, but some random dude made it for me 'cause I didn't have a camera. Hopefully he'll email me that picture soon.

That reminds me of the DT gig I attended! I promised to send the registration of the concert to two youngsters that were around me, but they didn't give me their email address, so they lost the train  :lol

Yeah, I think there may be some kind of correlation between my height (1,86 m) and shoe size :lol

Wow, that's really cool! :tup I would love to see Steven and Opeth live and meet Mikael.

I gave him my email as a memo in his phone, I just hope he remembers to send me the pic  :lol

Yeah, it was truly amazing. I really hope for you that you do some time! It was really luck that I got to meet Mikael; Magma was playing and suddenly I just saw Mikael standing near the side of the stage talking to some fans and taking pictures.

Oh, I didn't know you're taller than me! :o Well, maybe there are also some really short people with big feet :lol

That's really cool of him - bothering to talk with fans even when a band he likes is playing! :)

I'm older than the two of you but I'm just 1,80. I guess beanpoles thrive up there in the Lands Of Always Winter!  :\

For me it's more the Land of Always Rain, but ok. Beanpoles do really thrive here indeed, I think we are one of the countries with the tallest people.

Yeah, and Elite told me (he was there too) that he saw the rest of Opeth sitting in the audience watching Magma play! And Mikael did watch most of Magma standing on the side of the stage - he only came out for about 15 minutes. Steven watched them too, but he didn't come out to chat. He was the one who invited Magma to play on the festival! Mikael also said during his set that he really liked Magma and Caravan (who also played there).

According to English Wikipedia the average height of Finnish men is 1.770 m and the Finnish version says it's 181 cm, so I'm not giving the most accurate representation :D However, Dutch people are really big! :eek

Dudes! I'm friends with Charlie Dominici on FaceBook! :omg:

I'm sure he friends everyone who sends a request, but still, it's pretty cool.

Me too! Sent him a message one time thanking him and showing my appreciation for what he's done, and actually got a response. Cool guy.

Watch out though... he'll get a bit crazy with those conspiracy theories.. :lol

Shadow Ninja 2.0

Haha, I'm good with that. I actually really enjoyed the alien-overlord plot of 03. I'm probably the only one. :lol

It took me 11 pages to realize there was a new one? yeesh I'm slackin

?

I've never sent friend requests to musicians I appreciate even if they've been friends with fans. I would feel guilty and think I'm not respecting their privacy, which may sound silly, but I just don't want to bother them.

Yeah, I can understand that. That's why I didn't send one to Amanda Somerville (even though I wanted to).

CD had something like 4000 friends though, which I figured was impossible unless they were fans. Besides, I figure if it bothered him, he could always turn it down. :P

Sketchy

^ Yar, same, even though Google + keeps telling me I should add a chinese musician I rather like to my circles on it.

Stupid Google. They're pushing this Google Plus thing really hard. Every time I do anything with my Google account, they're like "Oh, use Google Plus!". Dudes. I don't want to use it.

This has been on my mind recently. :lol

Man, Google love forcing their own products onto you. First Youtube required a Google account, now it forces a Google+ account on you too, so it can automatically set up a page whether you like it or not. And the worst part is that it screws up the layout and now the actual important stuff (like your Youtube Inbox) are buried in obscure menus, meaning I miss everything. And it kept bugging me about choosing whether I wanted to use my Youtube name or change it for Google+ to the point where it wouldn't even let me watch videos until I chose.
Eventually I realized I could unlink the accounts, and it was finally back good again, but then a couple of weeks later it forced it on me again.

And the Google homepage is always trying to push Google Chrome on me with an annoying message in the corner.

Screw you Google. You're a search engine to me. Nothing more.

?

I thought about joining YT one day to share the few live videos I've filmed and I already use Gmail, but I don't want to be forced to create a Google Plus account.

Dropbox them to someone and have them put it up for you if it's worth it!

?

Nah, those videos aren't that great... :lol

Travelling to Kuopio today, maybe I'll bump into Marco Hietala (Nightwish)... :P
