...is it bad that I'm 22 and I want this to go to sleep to? :lol

:hifive:

Seriously, these are actually really beautiful. Although I'm having serious difficulty recognizing the snippets of the songs.

From NJ?

Yep. :lol I don't like to announce that though since I'm hoping to move in a few months.

Hi guys. I think it's first time I'm visiting this thread ;)
As some of you mentioned PT I could listen to Stupid Dream today, great album but I never listened to it enough. BTW, FOTBP is my favorite by PT :tup

I got TW, OTBOA, Metropolis, UAGM, Forsaken, and PA... but it took repeated listens.

wasteland

Those tracks were produced before, I almost couldn't recognize half of the songs from the samples!

Also, in the vein of different interpretations of DT songs...

I'll just leave this here and go back to having an eargasm.

My copy of DT12 was shipped this afternoon. Normally it takes one day to deliver them, and I really hope tomorrow won't be an exception :panicattack:

That's great! You'll have to let us know.

I found this Dream Theater tribute album on Spotify. Couldn't listen to it. I didn't realize how much James's voice is iconic to the sound of the band until I was listening to someone else sing it. :\

TheAtliator

I got the two day shipping that comes on the release day. Does Amazon ever ship that deal early? I want mine early!! Of course I ordered it yesterday so..  :lol

Which one was it?  I remember there was one called Voices that came out in 1999 and it wasn't that great.

Whatsername

It's called "Déjà Vu a Tribute to Dream Theater". I wanted to like it, but I couldn't. :lol

Holy god, this version of Under a Glass Moon is hilariously bad.

EDIT:   :lol :lol  Everyone on this board needs to listen to this recording right now.  There's no keyboardist, the vocalist is ridiculous, and the guitarist isn't even playing the guitar solo and is just playing rhythm over the instrumental section.

Thematt202

I'm not as excited about this as I once was.  In my opinion they left it too late and now the material seems slightly outdated.   It's still a day one purchase of course, I just wish it had come out when the initial excitement for the ADTOE stuff was still present.   Would be awesome if they added a few "live in the studio" performances from the new album to keep things current.

I realise this sounds really ungrateful but I don't intend it to come across that way.

?

Am I the only one who finds it funny that YNM was covered by a band with a proggy/bombastic name like Moon of Steel?

I'm sure they're trying, and I applaud their effort (hell, I couldn't come CLOSE to what they're doing :lol) but I mean... there are some bands that are better left uncovered.

There are some bands I'd definitely trust to cover Dream Theater. Seventh Wonder, for starters. And I don't like Circus Maximus' original material much, but legend has it they were a DT cover band when they were starting out, and Michael Eriksen is quite an outstanding singer.

Shadow Ninja 2.0

Michael Erikson really reminded me of JLB the first time I heard him. Which is odd, because now I can hardly hear any similarities. :lol

I want to hear Mr. Tommy singing Surrounded. Can you arrange that, Mili? :D
