There's of course that, but I also wouldn't be particularly surprised if Derek doesn't really listen to DT all that much these days. Music tastes change, keep in mind that Derek was part of DT 14 years ago.

The few times I've met him (when he was in Dream Theater) he's been really nice.

You should've asked him if Portnoy's been talking about/trashing DT with him since they both quit/got kicked off the band
