So, DT updated their facebook status saying the backpacks are back in stock, BRILLIANT! I thought to my self, clicked the link and they are around £40 ($65) which got me thinking that its extremely overpriced for a bag! The most I'd pay is around half of that, then I realised that most of the merch is very expensive!

Thoughts?

WindMaster

That's pretty normal for a backpack. I got a new one for school a couple years ago and I remember it costing somewhere in that range, or more.

40 bucks for a lighter? Are they insane?

No, they're DREAMing.. HOHO!

They also want to earn a dollar or two, right?

It's like paying quite a "few" bucks for your favorite sports team's jersey, you know it's overpriced but you've supported the team.  :)

I'd like to buy the DT basketball jersey MP was often wearing, would be cool to wear during summer (after extended gym sessions, of course  )

If its a Zippo then thats pretty justified.

I just think, yeah they want to earn a bit of money off them, but its way overpriced... Just look at the leather jacket! (even though It's awesome)

I've kind of given up on buying any band merch online because the customs in Serbia will charge you a random but often pretty high amount of money on the border unless it's a CD or a book, so this doesn't concern me in the slightest :D

Yeeeees, know that feeling. Every time I'd order something worth over 40 € through Amazon, I'd get my "congratulation letter" from the customs  :tdwn Hah, good to know the country is close to acceding to EU so no more customs when ordering from EU countries and raising the bar for imports from the US........  :metal

Well I would hope it isn't a Bic lighter.   ;)

The entrance of Turkey in the UE has been a matter of discussion for decades now.  :-[

philmcson

Hm, yes, I doubt that any country after Croatia will enter EU in the next five to ten years. Maybe Iceland, but I think they won't accept accession on the referendum. Turkey has just started negotiations and Serbia has just become an official candidate, so this will take some considerable time....

jonnybaxy

Well us in The UK are having a vote on leaving the EU.... This thread has gone off topic waayy too early

I'd guess a lot of the mark up goes to "middlemen."
