(before you ask... yeah, I have no idea. The wiki entry on Chroma Key clarifies what is it but it's confusing as fuck)

Yeah, Madman is right about Iowa and South Dakota.  In 2011, Kevin was living in Florida.  Some fans who bought his Shine album noticed his Kickstarter page had a Florida location, as did the packages he mailed out.  But then he relocated to Des Moines, Iowa, to record/mix OSI's Fire Make Thunder.  He ended up staying in Iowa after the album was done.  However, at some point last year, Kevin posted about a road trip he was taking to an indian reservation in South Dakota, and he even posted a few videos from the reservation on Twitter.  He never really said whether he stayed in South Dakota or went back to Iowa.  It's possible he went back to Turkey, because his Turkish ex-gf who sang on Chroma Key's Graveyard Mountain Home and Shine apparently passed away of cancer a few months ago, according to some Turkey-based fans.  So maybe he went back to Turkey.  He's been really quiet on Facebook and Twitter since the summer.

Where do you live, Lolzeez?

Maybe because he doesn't want crazy obsessed fans following his every move ;)

That is sad about his ex though.  She couldn't have been that old.

My bad.  I did click, but it doesn't show where you're from.  Maybe it's hidden or something.  Sorry, I tend to ramble when it comes to KM.  That's pretty amazing if u saw him.  He'll probably never play live again, so a random encounter might be the only way to meet him.

Since this is a KevMo thread: Apparently a college ensemble on Long Island, NY, recently performed an orchestral version of "Space-Dye Vest."  Here's a clip.  No full version available yet, for some reason: https://soundcloud.com/alex-nohai-seaman/space-dye-vest-clip

I mean, for you it's been probably around ten years of hearing OSI's "we'll play live at some point/guess what we didn't" so you have every right to be skeptic, but most of us are new to this :lol

You see, I once was on an Italian DT forum. There, every thread even remotely related to Kevin Moore inevitably ended in a bashfest of either him or the band for letting him go/never sounding the same again. I'm glad these days are over.

There is a setlist: https://www.blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=69700
Quote01. Give Up Some
02. White Robe
03. Mother's Radio
04. Kicking (remix version)
05. Come In Over
06. Pure Laughter
07. Andrew Was Drowning His Stepfather
08. Sad Sad Movie
09. Again Today
10. Get Back In The Car
11. Horseshoes and B52's
I'm shocked that a KM fangirl like you didn't know about that! :omg: I bet you have seen this interview with short clips of Sad Sad Movie, though.

If I had to say something good about him not playing live, then it'd be the fact that the setlist for his only gig was heavily focused on my least fave CK album. I also bet he wouldn't (have) come to Finland anyway :-\

wasteland

Well, I can say that I know 0% of those songs. Are them from Mountain Graveyard Home? I am still processing DAFR (hard spinning!) and have some rudimental notions of YGN, but zero of Graveyard, so far.

?

All are from GMH, except Kicking and Horsehoes..., which are OSI songs, and Get Back in the Car, which is from You Go Now. I'm surprised actually - you would imagine that DAFR songs work the best in a live environment! Well, maybe he didn't play those because he performed completely on his own?

wasteland

Who played the other instruments on DAFR? (if other instruments were employed at all)

Mark Zonder of Fates Warning played drums and Joey Vera played bass on some songs. And Steve Tushar, who did a lot of work on YGN, was involved in the production I think. The rest is all Kevin.

I DIDN'T KNOW THAT.
He played Kickingggggg *kicks herself* This looks like a near-perfect setlist to me. But then again whatever he played would have been near perfect.

I just...
*explodes*
I know he doesn't like touring all that much and that he is nervous and everything but it would be so great if that would change someday. I know I shouldn't wish for something like that but he is my favorite artist ever. No one compares to him. And it would be so great if he would carry it out there live with him.

?

Maybe he should use Kickstarter for financing a tour? I mean, he got over 3 times as much money as his goal was for Shine - I bet he could find enough faithful fans to donate and help him make a tour happen.

MoraWintersoul

I don't think financing is the main problem, although it probably would be for Kevin if he wanted to do a solo tour. When you look at the OSI interview with Brian Slagel, it seems Jim and him would have a lot of support in Metal Blade if they wanted to put together an OSI tour, and they've mentioned maybe doing an in-studio recorded thing to see if they could pull it off, because there's tricky programming and loops and stuff that can't be pulled off live, but it could be done. I am guessing the main problem is that, when you put Jim and Kevin together, their perfectionism goes off the charts and they won't settle for anything less than perfect :lol

Of course I could be horribly off the mark.

?

I don't know about Jim's schedules, but obviously he has other projects and those can affect the chances of a tour. Besides, they need a drummer and probably a bassist as well - Kevin wouldn't have these constraints on his own.

A Kickstarter project wouldn't only be about the money, but it would also show Kevin that there are people who are actually interested in seeing him live and willing to pay for it - I bet it would motivate him. Well, he's an introverted person and being such myself as well, I understand him, but since he managed to pull off that show in Turkey and has past experiences of touring with DT, he could easily do multiple gigs - you won't die on stage! :lol

Well, hop on! Take that seat next to that red teddy bear. His name is Tommy. *pats him on head* Anyways we are now preparing for launch. If we're unlucky though we might land on a concert where DT is playing BMU BMD in a loop. We may not get out. First of all,we need to get some food just in case. Next, take these pills. I swear those aren't drugs. *coughs* Oh and the risk of death is none. Unless you hate BMU BMD as much as I do. Ok,prepare for launch.

Jim's been doing mostly writing for the "new" Fates Warning in the past several years, if we exclude the Arch/Matheos project, but I think the tour for that was rather short. Now, as the Fates Warning album is definitely coming out this year, they will definitely come out on tour so I don't think there will be much room for an OSI tour, UNLESS... :corn

Yeah, not gonna happen but it would be so nice if OSI were opening for FW. I would like them to at least do that rehearsal performance and film that. Or perhaps I wouldn't because I would have to be surgically removed from my computer because I couldn't stop listening to that.

Everything about Kevin's career just boils down to would he enjoy doing it or not. I guess so far, for a solo tour with CK, the answer is "no", or at least "not enough to face the prospect of going through the hassle of organizing a tour".

He's never said that as far as I know. I'll try and dig up some interview after the show in Turkey where he explained why the tour didn't take place, I can't remember the exact words but it had to do with lack of label support. I'm pretty surprised at the fact that show in Turkey even took place, and that he talked about doing a full tour as enthusiastically as he did in the first place, to be honest.

Even if he won't tour, he should at least give us some new music! I remember a Blood-era interview where he said he would like to work on some more organic stuff - he seems to have A LOT of spare time, why not form a project like that?

Let's ask him :lol we just have no idea where he is or does he have spare time or does he even want to. My Chroma Key fan position is the following: if he ever announces working on any new solo project I'll be doing double takes down the 108 stairs that separate my apartment from the front of the building, then run around Kragujevac yelling about how happy I am, then getting drunk for the first time in my adult life and doing an hour long S.O.S singalong session with exactly no one, and then probably returning home and dancing in the shower until it gets out. But I won't hold him responsible if he doesn't do anything ever anymore.

I think he will do something though. He's an artist and he needs to, uhm, art. Needs to communicate. If he has stuff to communicate, he will. I would just like it to be CK since OSI is dependent on Jim as well and he's been involved in FW for real for, like, the first time in ten years or so. Also, because there hasn't been a new CK album in a long time.

What I really like about Kevin is that he is the one of the rare people among my favorite artists of whose intentions and further flow of their career I know nothing about until something comes or gets close to coming to fruition. I have NO IDEA what to expect of him ever. It's very hard to do that for your fans, to surprise them, if you've had a 20+ year career. And I thank him for that.
