Yeah, I've seen some of her stuff before, including this one.  I like her as a drummer.  Her band is pretty good too.  Cohen's cover is a bit tighter, but I prefer the personality Mari adds to her drumming.

I'd love to just play the video to a guy and ask him how good the drumming is without seeing it.

Then show him the video like a week later and ask him how good the drumming is whilst watching it.

That's really not the point. Regardless of how good the performance is, or whether or not they point out that they are female in the title, 99.9% of girls' videos have like half the comments being about their appearance.

And have you considered that maybe pointing out that someone is a girl is actually noteworthy in such a male-dominated ecosystem? There are like 100 male drum covers for every 1 female drum cover on youtube.

Which is pretty much every video on youtube. Some religious or political debate. What's funny is of all places for that to not happen was a video for The Great Debate. It had a lot of comments too which is what really surprised me.

Being a drummer, when meeting a female drummer that gives her instant 100 awesomeness points in my books, can't help myself 
Now seriously, for some reason there really is a very low number of female drummers and of course it'd be nicer if they'd be judged by their playing than by their looks. No one is expecting this cover to be better than MM's, but to me, watching drum covers was always educational and I bet it was like this even for some drummers (if some more experienced colleagues noticed a technical "error" in their playing and pointed it out). So far, I don't like the sound, when playing that crash cymbal it mutes out all other elements. Then again, she hasn't got drum mics and if we buy enough t-shirts with her name on them, she'll buy some in the future.....

No idea. She's a very pretty girl with an attractive personality but goodness gracious, those awful ears.
