BMUBMD - sometimes

This is the Life - sometimes

Beneath the Surface - I skip this track almost all the time. I don't like this song so I usually end the album on Breaking All Illusions.

The rest I never skip.

Super Dude

I was really surprised by BMUBMD being the big skip track; that's one of my favorite tracks, no question.
:superdude:

Nekov

Everything except BITS, BAI and BTS

Nel_Annette

Sometimes "Lost Not Forgotten", but definitely "Outcry".

obscure

Kwyjibo

None, I either listen to whole CDs if I have the time, or I chose singular tracks.

Dacling

Build Me Up Break Me Down. In my opinion it is the second worst song they have ever written. Just barely any better than A Rite of Passage and not even as good as You Not Me. I'm so glad that they weren't playing it when I went to see them.

BlobVanDam

I don't listen to it at all, so technically I skip everything, but back when I did listen to it, I'd skip Outcry, Beneath the Surface, and sometimes FFH. I actually rarely skipped BMUBMD. Sure it's no Metropolis, but it's not bad.

?

None. I listen to the songs separately or the whole album in full without skipping any songs.

Aquila Chrysaetos

None, in fact I never normally skip tracks.
I take an album in it's entirety, with the good things and the not so good things.

HeAvY-MeTaL-MaN

I like BMUBMD, TITL and FFM. Looks like im the odd one out when it comes to DT songs/albums as I tend to like the stuff no one else likes  :lol

Onno

None, I rarely skip tracks on albums. I don't even skip You Not Me on FII, which is my least favourite DT song.

wolfking

Angels
This Is the Life
Heaven
Surface

Ruba

BMU,BMD. I should sometime listen to James LaBrie's Alone instead of it, they're a bit similar, but Alone is infinitely better.

TAC

BMUBMD about 50% of the time
FFH every time

BMUBMD everytime
OTBOA about 50% of the time.

The rest of the album is unskippable!
Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Quote from: Stadler on February 08, 2025, 12:49:43 PMI wouldn't argue this.

manticore999

I skip the ballads.  I don't care for James's voice all that much, and the ballads are just too much.

Resonate

None, no skipping, enjoy every bit of it.

OsMosis2259

I really enjoy just listening to this album from start to finish so I picked none. If I HAD to pick a song then it would be Far From Heaven. However the album is very consistent compared to SC and BC&SL in my opinion.

Yoshi Yogurt

Far from heaven is the only one I usually skip. The album is really solid though.

54_diplomats

Geez a lot of people skip Far from Heaven. I find it to be much better than Beneath the Surface and I almost never listen to BAI without FFH.

VioletS16

Pretty easily This Is the Life. I find the lyrics very cheesy and, as a girl who LOVES great lyrics, I find them hard to overlook. It's not very inspirational for me, so I normally skip it. Not that it's a bad song...

Far From Heaven just seems like a jam from JR that JLB wrote lyrics over.

At least Beneath The Surface has an awesome keyboard solo and is structured.

Seriously?  I always got the impression that FFH was remarkably traditional, structurally.

I mean it's not totally unstructured, it just SOUNDS to me like an improvised jam that has lyrics over, even though it obviously isn't.

slycordinator

Almost all the times now that I end up listening to it are when I'm running at the gym. So I tend to skip the ballads even though I like them. At those times, I'm more in the mood for stuff that'll keep me pumped up and such.

Otherwise, I'd leave it alone.

EstyMaJ

Picked BTS but very rarely i skip it , only when im not in the mood to listen to a beautiful mellow tune.

King Postwhore

It depends on the drive.  If I have a long drive I don't skip but if it's a short distance it's BMUBMD.

To me, FFH is a part of BAI, just like Wait for Sleep and Learning to live or Vacant and Stream of Consciousness. I never listen to one without the other, it would feel like missing the first few minutes of a song.

Eldomm

Only Far from Heaven for me. I don't agree with it being connected to BAI, they are completely different form each other. Wait for Sleep and LTL have a much stronger connection.

Adami

Yea I see no connection between FFH and BAI. Someone said once that they share a chord progression........cool I guess, though I still can't hear it. And oddly enough of all of the transitions on the album, the one between those two songs is probably one of the weakest.

TheGreatPretender

None. When I listen to the album, I listen all the way through, and I really enjoy it all the way through. But this is an album where I've been more inclined to just pick a song I feel like listening to and just listen to that one song at any given moment.
