Did anyone see this on JP's wall just now?  It says this: "So great to see 'The Count of Tuscany' once again in Florence."

philmcson

Hmmmm. Where else to put this photo?

Ah, here. Well, so I begged MM in "sign language" to give me a drumstick, and he apologized for not being able to do so. In return, he posed for a special photo.....  :lol

Haha cool photo!  :lol

I wonder why he couldn't toss a few drumsticks into the crowd? Most drummers do that at the end of their shows...

philmcson

Seems to be one of his principles, just like someone told he doesn't shake hands on the meet and greets..... he should be asked to explain this as soon as he gets interviewed  :millahhhh

Maybe he has kept MP's policy...

philmcson

Not really, I own two drumsticks MP tossed into the crowd.....

?

I heard MP stopped throwing sticks into the audience at DT shows after an incident where someone fell from the balcony while trying to catch them, but maybe that was only a DT thing.

MP doesn't throw the sticks to the crowd. He still hands them out.

Indeed, although he broke his rule at the very end of Score where he couldn't resist to throw one out to a guy who was air drumming all the way through. Such a great, pivotal moment with the music and JLB's expressions...I must've watched it a dozen times over.

Dose of Youngini:

And at that age, his drum set is already arranged for ambidextrous playing.

Without the hairy chest I totally would have labelled Mangini a female. :lol

I am always surprised at how people (make fun of?) talk about MM looking like a woman, but he is way more good looking than most dudes I've ever seen, so it's a natural reaction to feel alienated by it I guess  :lol

We Italians have a way of looking good no matter what.     :D

I don't think it's making fun of as much as stating a fact, actually a lot of guys with long hair can be mistaken for a woman at first sight(young Myung being the other example that comes to mind). I don't think it's a bad thing though, it's just a (western)cultural thing to be used to women having long hair and men short, so when you see someone with long hair you are somehow conditioned to think it's a woman or a man that looks like one. I would say it's almost inevitable depending on where you grew and a number of factors. It kind of sucks but hey, I didn't create the world or its (stupid)rules :lol.

I still wouldn't say he is that good looking but what do I know anyway :lol.

The only time(s) I've thought he looked like a woman was when I saw the band photos for the new album, because of the hair and the makeup :D

you need this in your lives:

Judging how he is grabbing the guitar, he clearly doesn't have much idea of what he's doing :lol. Cool pic though!

Not sure when that photo was taken, but I remember when I saw him with Extreme back in '95, he already had that ambidextrous set up, complete with the roto-toms.

So what you're saying is that the arm and hand on Mangini's shoulders is actually coming from Beartrucci then?
Quote from: BlobVanDam on November 13, 2015, 07:37:14 PMAs a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

But yea, a shame ninja isn't on it :<

It could be Mangini huging himself , with those really fast arms he can pull that of :P.

I took this picture myself at the Heineken Music Hall concert on 2014-17-02, needless to say.. it was friggin' awesome!!!
Also had the most extraordinary thing happen to me, I was sitting in Amsterdam drinking a beer at a cafe outside, and Jordan Rudess just passed me at 3 feet distance.
So naturally I couldn't let him pass, so we talked for like 5 minutes, he's a really nice guy!
The day after I spoke to him again at the meet & greet!

And I was one of the fortunate guys to catch a guitar pick thrown by John P.
No DT concert will ever live up to my first one probably... we'll see in 2 yrs  :metal Rock On!!
