That was awesome. Thanks for sharing.

GasparXR

Oh my god that was hilarious!!! That would have been a great live moment to witness first-hand, even with James' banter beforehand.

Why does everyone sing and why don't they in Europe? :(

They're out of tune, but even then, it's awesome if the crowd is that involved.

Oh, so MM can just cover MP's old vocals, then!

You heard it here first:  A Nightmare to Remember will open DT13's set.

Oh, lol

It's one of the things that bugs me most at concerts :lol People singing out of tune or clapping out of rhythm.
The latter is even more annoying.

They do when I go! Been to four, and there's been lots of singing each time.

Clapping out of rhythm's irritating, but I'm never that bothered by out-of-tune singing unless it's right in my ear. That could be because I'm part of the problem as much as part of the solution, though.

I think it can get annoying if you're listening the guy at the audience singing more than James obviously, but in fact "out of tune" singing is what makes great crowd noise...if that makes any sense whatsoever  :D

Fixed. I can imagine him singing "day after day" with that voice.

That entire clip was amazing.

I thought he said "I'm going to shoot them. I'm going to shoot them in the foot."

Scorpion

Great stuff. Good to see them having so much fun on stage!

TAC

Even at the end of this long tour, they look so happy to be in each other's company.
Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Quote from: Stadler on February 08, 2025, 12:49:43 PMI wouldn't argue this.

Cedar redaC

"Yeah, we should cover a Guns and Roses song..."

IdoSC

What's the song they played in the beginning?

Zydar

Mladen

Man, they look like they're having so much fun.  :lol

snapple

I hate that people can't just enjoy a fun moment and a beautiful performance of a beautiful song.

Jaffa

I thought everyone was enjoying it.

Look at all us freaks cluttering your city streets
Still scalping their ticket-less applause
Spun monkeys on the railroad track, take me to the caine field; I walk along pick my spiderbite
Basically Kyoko Kirigiri

MoraWintersoul

This is the most precious DT-related thing I've seen lately. Blissful.

I kind of teared up while watching it. After coming to realize I'm only going to miss DT if I keep associating their music with the unpleasantness what (had, at that time) went down with the band, I started re-playing everything, absorbing everything and started following what was going on on the current tour as well, with all my notfancyingADTOE-attitude. The crown of these several months was me registering on these forums and getting even more absorbed with it, it all paid off.

The point which I'm trying to reach - I went through some really tough times in the past year for various reasons, and DT was there for me. There was other music, other things, sure, but I reconnected strongly to this particular band and my emotional state benefited from it. And looking at videos like these, I completely understand how they did it. They should be proud of themselves every second of every day.

I'm usually embarrassed to fangirl this much, but hey, I'm on the Dream Theater forums. This should be a safe place for that, right? :lol

I have to say, the crowd is freakin' amazing. I'm having trouble hearing James. In a ballad. From a very high-quality recording as far as the audio goes. That's just fantastic!

First of all

Second - I remember not reacting too well to the break up.  So much so that I couldn't listen to DT for a good 5-6 months, and even though Mangini YT footage impressed me, I'd still burst into random tears lamenting the fact that MP was gone.  Until ADToE came out.

Third - DT side of DTF is the BEST place to get your fangirl on. :) ;)

I paused Type O Negative to watch that.
No regrets  :tup

Totally.

If you can admit that then I can remember I go back to youtube and watch DT's show from last year in Chicago just to watch myself jumping up and down and freaking out in the second role.  Double fanboy whammy right there.
