FII, although Awake is close.

I love Storm Thorgersson's work.

Agreed. I used to be mesmerized by that cover when I was a kid and I also love Storm Thorgersson's work.

Madman Shepherd

I really like the concept of the A Change of Seasons artwork....but not so much the execution

The King in Crimson

Octavarium, Scenes and Systematic Chaos top my list.  Six Degrees and Train of Thought come next.

Awake is probably my least favorite.  I don't like the colors, the style of the art, the cluttered imagery and the attempts at 'over-nuggeting' the cover.  I avoided the album for a long time because of that.

A Dramatic Turn of Events. I love its colourful and simplistic look. For me it also somehow reflects the whole album very well.

I disagree. I think the color scheme of the cover looks a little too cheerful for a "Dramatic" turn of events. And the actual music on the album is a lot darker. But if the tone of the actual album doesn't matter, it is a really pretty image.

I'm not a big fan of the "nuggety" ones either, like BCASL and IaW, which I think are both weak covers, although the Awake one isn't bad imo. Even though it's that same nuggety style, I think it still has strong enough focus to work as an image, and it has more of a vibe to it that matches the album.
Glad to say I never avoided a DT album because of the cover, or else they'd be in trouble. :p

tristl

I like most of the DT covers.
ToT and ADTOE represent the content of the album perfectly imo :heart

Ruba

I have never liked cover of 6 Degrees. And WDADU is kinda weird.

The others are great. I went with Awake.

Rattlehead

I went with ToT, I always loved the cover of it since the first second I saw it  :tup I like all of their album covers though besides WDADU.  :hat

GasparXR

Went with Awake. Fairly busy, but contains the good nuggets. I&W, 8V and ADTOE are fairly close.

Mladen

I chose Awake. It kinda changes most of the time, I like almost all of them.

I can't believe Train of thought is doing this well, that album cover never really did anything for me.

Podaar

I entered this thread to post "Tenement Funster/Flick of the Wrist/Lily of the Valley" but then I noticed you were taking a poll about art and re-read the subject...

Scenes From A Memory. But that vote is probably for the iconic nature of it's instant association with the band.

Art wise, I'd have to vote Octavarium.

Ruba

I'm really surprised that I&W has so little votes.

Well let's just say the cover doesn't *quite* match up to the quality of the music and leave it at that. :lol

Grinch

Don't really get what you see about the Octavarium cover. Went with SFAM.

mallorier

SFAM easily takes the cake for me...I would have it in poster form on my wall if such a poster existed  :heart

tuto

I dont know why, but when I first saw the Train Of Thought cover, combined with hearing the As I Am intro, it creeped me out  ;D but now its my favorite cover and fav. album  :metal

Who'd have thought.

ToT-147

"Dream Theater" is my pick...

I think this post needs an updating...

Wait, didn't we just have a thread like this yesterday? Where'd it go?
