Setlist Scotty

I still cant imagine writing without drums there.
Perhaps, but Rush is a band that does it with all their albums. Not sure how they manage or if Alex has gotten completely adept at programming drums, but it is possible. Nonetheless, I agree that it makes sense that they would be able to proceed with the writing much more quickly with MM in the studio than without him.
Quote from: BlobVanDam on November 13, 2015, 07:37:14 PMAs a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

Jinx

Well having had the news that a certain hyped game concerning Great Stolen Automobiles has been pushed back half a year, I am getting annoyed about the lack of info between that company and OTE (and now RR).      It is just unbelievable that there is such a lack of updates for this DVD and Blu Ray that so many people are chomping at the bit for. I dont understand that if the trailer is ready, why it hasnt been released. I am failing to grasp at the point of not letting people know as soon as possible the information surrounding the product, unless of course the band and label themselves dont really know in which case album 12 will be on the way and the focus will surely be on that instead. And then for a guy from Over the Edge to say "should be before August" is so vague yet quite random (why August?) I dunno, I'm sorry for the rant and all (and the big block of text - using Kindle Fire and not sure how to drop a line) but this lack of communication and information is just plain annoying.

Perpetual Change

Jinx, the trailer is supposed to be coming out later this week. Well, it's lunchtime, Thursday. There's really no reason to be in full panic/annoyance mode. And I'm sure that the trailer will include a release date, as trailers usually do. Summer '13 sounds realistic as the show was only in July, but if the trailer is really coming out tomorrow then I'd hope for something a bit sooner. Regardless, I don't care however long we have to wait, as long as they get it right. The last 3 DT DVDs have been marred one way or the other. Here's to hoping they get it perfect with this one.

Which do you think was the marring element of Score? Weak setlist?

That, but there were some serious quality control issues with discs not working properly too in the first batch, if I remember correctly. Same with Budokan.

:sadpanda: I've never watched my Score DVDs.. (Just own them because I'm a completest).... I guess I need to see if they work!..

Score is good enough for just having the definitive versions of Another Won, Raise The Knife, and the version of Metropolis which the orchestra is amazing, what with the added symphonic parts. But I enjoy the whole album, so maybe I'm biased.

I've never heard of that with Score.  Budokan, yes.  But a technical issue with the manufacturer, while unfortunate and annoying, isn't really the band's fault or a problem with the quality of the DVD itself.  I get people's reaction toward CiM.  But Score and Budokan were great products.  People may not have liked them based on personal taste and preference, but they were still great products.

I hope we see a nice balance of LAB and Score production. LAB had what appeared to be a very coordinated and well laid out camera crew for very specific parts of the concert. Some of the angles were too good to have just been by chance (maybe they were and I'm just talking out my ass). Score on the other hand had really awesome panning and camera movement across the stage, which I really loved. In LAB, I feel like the screens behind the stage were captured a lot more frequently. I thought that element was really cool. It definitely enhanced the live concert experience. Then again, if memory serves me right, they had to pull the screens up at the Score show to make room for the orchestra. I'm really confident in this release though. In a way, this is might be DT's most important release to date. It's been 6 years (I don't count CIM) since we got an official release, as well as their first release with MM. I know a lot of people who bailed on DT when MP left, hopefully this release can convince a few to come back.

TAC

Chino, you're right about the LaB angles. That film crew did a great job. I love how in many of the shots, they always seem to capture a secondary member in the shot.
Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Quote from: Stadler on February 08, 2025, 12:49:43 PMI wouldn't argue this.

Don't do that.  It was obviously leaked and not official.  The official release will be SOON, as Wey said.  Be patient, guys.  It's coming.  :)

In the mean time, NO POSTING LINKS TO ANYTHING THAT MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE LEAKED.  ;)

Kotowboy

Is it just me or does it look way too bright and colourful like they're playing with the house lights on?

It looks like X Factor :/

It said it'd be out in May.

That is one hell of a wait. Why release the trailer now and aim for a May release. Oh well, just shut up and take my money already.
