It is just an opinion SeRoX and one that I disagree with as well.
I just realized you're the Turkish guy who got banned for a while! Welcome back dude :)

I see this more than just "an" opinion. Not just this community, the majority out there could consider "Scarred" as a progressive definition. At least I've seen many comments, writings or ect on magazines or forums.  Unfortunately Blob's Scarred hatred blinds him. Of course I write it as my personal opinion here but it's just more than it.

I&W and Awake is my personal favoruite DT album and both are the peak point of their progressive career. Minority may disagree but it doesn't change the fact.

Good list, I don't know why Fatal Tragedy and Finally Free are so high though, don't get me wrong they are great songs, but Finally Free as its own song has parts that keep it from being higher on the list for me. It's mainly the sound effects and story element samples. It doesn't feel complete as a whole and is kind of random, especially the last couple minutes with the TV and static, It's almost too theatrical, I dunno lol. Fatal Tragedy is maybe top 30-40 but not top 10. Perhaps Beyond This Life or Home "could" easily replace these as they are better and more coherent songs.

Just my opinion.

Pretty sure that, regardless of whether you absolutely love Scarred or not, it being "the definition of progressive metal / rock" can in no way be considered a fact.

A song being a definition of a genre is a serious logical flaw. The definition of progressive music is odd song structures, time signature changes, odd times, tempo changes, wide variety of influences, etc. and many more, but a song itself is NOT a definition. A song can be a really good EXAMPLE of the genre though, and I think that's what he meant.

That being said, whether Scarred can represent the entire progressive rock/metal genre when they are millions of songs in the genre, is highly subjective, and shouldn't be blatantly stated as a fact. Also going to defend Blob here, he wouldn't just discount your statement because he doesn't like Scarred. He's not THAT opinionated, and honestly you're being the more opinionated one by stating something subjective as fact.

Trial of Tears and Fatal Tragedy should switch places. The rest is okay, though I'd eliminate Octavarium, but it was to be expected that it has a place there.

No, this has nothing to do with my opinion of the song, so that's a cop-out reply. There is no objective measurement for claiming your opinion as fact here even if I agreed with it. You are of course fully entitled to have the opinion that it is the definitive prog metal, but it is not a fact.

Mr Boolsheet used to make the same claims of fact, and look where that got him.

In the interest of balance, I feel I should at least present the counter-argument that Scarred is a massive dingus that has cooties and a bit of poo on it.

:lol

All I can say, Scarred is easily one of the progressive definition song based on many comments on net or magazines. I just united it with my personal thought. OK, it may be wrong word to use "fact" in that matter but whatever. But believe me, I hate every second of The Dark Eternal Night but I can honestly say that it's one of the modern-progressive example in every way.

Opinions vary, that's one in hand. And I'm not trying to show my opinion as a fact but while majority somewhat agrees with me about Scarred (at least what I see) I stand by my thought. It's not about to love or hate it.
