I was listening to random DT songs from my collection of bootlegs, and this version of ACOS came up.
To be honest i quite like Cintron's voice in this song. I was wondering if i am the only one.

I like it, Clinton delivered a very strong performance, IMHO. But James's attempt at the same song (the original ACOS demo) is otherwordly  :)

This version is pretty cool.

Something really struck me about the demo lyrics though - they seem to be more "literal", closer to the way MP wrote Best of Times. Did JP or the other guys help Mike re-work some of those lyrics or did he do it all himself?

Ben_Jamin

I'm guessing MP modified them as time went on.

Wow that is weird.  This came up on my Zune yesterday, and I had never listened to it before.  I thought it was a really good vocal performance, but I had no idea who the dude was.  Definitely a few things about it I might even prefer to the final product.

Global Laziness

Although I prefer listening to the James version, the CC version is very cool too. It's a way of seeing how the song evolved, really.

I may be mistaken about this, but wasn't the song originally about relationships ending? I was under the impression that that's what he wrote about initially but modified some of the lyrics to change the meaning to honour his mother when she died.

I've always appreciated this version but I wanted my girlfriend to listen to it yesterday since the Cintron Brothers flamenco musix came up on shuffle in my car, so I listened to it for the first time in a while and man can that dude sing!

It's too bad he never did anything else more metal oriented.

First 4 minutes are really horrible but otherwise it's ok.

"Another World"-ly perhaps?

Maybe he just meant that he couldn't describe James's performance as "a very strong performance" because it used the same words as what he used to describe Chris Cintron's performance.

After all this time?  :omg:

No, you´re not the only one. His version has pretty emotional parts in it. Listening to it in depth, however, it´s clear the composition wasn´t really develloped out. It does have some very strong parts already, though.

I love this versions and I prefer these lyrics.

Man, I really like his voice too. He reminds me of Joey Lynn Turner a bit
