For Nuno Bettencourt. Pretty good stuff. Found this by accident just now. Sorry if it has already been posted.

Not surprising tbh.

One of the first things they taught us on the music course I am on is that a musician should always be good at as many things as possible and that being able to do backup vocals and drum at the same time ( or guitar / bass ) will get you the gig over someone who can't do backup ( who may be a better musician ).

I actually asked MM about his backing vocals when I chatted with him after the Anaheim show, and he mentioned that for these shows he really practiced hard to do those vocals as (IIRC) he doesn't have good pitch. He also mentioned that the mics caused problems - either they hindered his performance or caused sound problems. In either case, don't expect to see MM doing backing vocals at future DT gigs!
Quote from: BlobVanDam on November 13, 2015, 07:37:14 PMAs a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

This was Mangini showing the guys in DT over the phone his take on the "whoa-ohs" on In The Name Of God
