I wouldn't consider the "Turn to the light" part to be neutral - I always interpreted it as DT saying kind of: you have to accept something that helps (the light), even though there might be some negative consequences (the shadows). Then again, any light casts shadows.

Anyway, that's how I always though it to be, therefore I was rather confused when all of you said that this song is neutral, because even though there are certain verses that present both sides, the chorus is pretty pro-stem-cell-and-stuff to me.

I've always felt it's a "middle of the pack" song. Also, incredibly dull in concert!
