There are a few possibilities...
1. Another cover album, even though it was mostly a MP thing
2. Inspiration corner, even though it was mostly a MP thing too...
3. He's just curious?

BlobVanDam

He was probably just looking for music recommendations. If it was for anything DT related, it probably would have been done through something more generally DT related, and not just through JR.

Zydar

I just think he's curious. No more, no less.

Tomislav95

I think he is going to make Morphwiz cover of one prog album.

Haken - Aquarius
King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King
Porcupine Tree - Deadwing

You have good taste my friend.
I know, right?

Wow, it's really hard to just pick three and it's something that changes all the time for me but-

King Crimson-Discipline/Three of a Perfect Pair (I know that's two and I love different incarnations of Crimson for different reasons, but those two take me back to a special place).
Genesis-Seconds Out
Peter Gabriel-Security

Again, that is what I would listen to right now if I had to choose but just about anything from Rush between 2112 and Counterparts could be in there, Classic Yes (I even liked Drama quite a lot), Floyd, Marillion, UK, and so on... (I'm sure there's some gem I just can't think of right now too).

I don't want any covers in DT's show. I want DT playing DT tunes. The cover thing was cool and everything during its time, but it's been enough of that. Petrucci himself stated that, during these concerts, they'd try to focus only on DT material (because they're reinforcing the image of what DT is).

Agreed!

Flacracker

Does The New Mythology Suite count?

V
The Whirlwind
Snowfall on Judgement Day

Zydar

From his Twitter:

"Love reading all responses! Mine are: Pink Floyd-Dark Side of the Moon- King Crimson-Court of the Crimson King and Yes-Close to the Edge."

Now he's asking us for our 3 favourite guitarists.

Well clearly they're going to have a guest guitarist perform that cover album with them.

Blabbermouth and YouTube comments disagree with you.
At least something positive came out of this.
Quote from: BlobVanDam on December 11, 2014, 08:19:46 PMHef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

I really really love Genesis' Selling England by the Pound. What a great album. I also love Joe's Garage by Frank Zappa very much. I'm not sure what a third would be for me. I'm not too much of a prog fan outside of DT.

theseoafs

JR is starting a supergroup that performs covers of classic prog albums. The band will have 3 guitarists.

Maiden was much better with two guitarists.

And they don't have a great guitarist in the three.
