This just occured to me. Everyone keeps talking about them re-recording When Dream And Day Unite, and while that would be nice, what I would REALLY like to see is them re-recording the songs from the Majesty demos.

I suggested something similar earlier in the thread.  They don't even need to go into the studio to re-record it, if they could just break the songs out live from time to time, and put them out on a live release a la "Another Won" on Score, it would be cool.

I would like this, but I highly doubt it'll happen. Another Won was on Score because it was their first song ever.

Agreed, but I can still dream.  :)  They did break out Your Majesty once, after all.

Lucidity

Ever since I realised the sheer brilliance and musical talent behind Dream Theater, I've been hoping for an orchestral album. Maybe an LP or released as a different group or anything, but just an orchestra (I wouldn't mind if the guys played with them like in Overture, but completely orchestral would be a great change). I feel like their writing style would be different, and their true colours would be exposed. I know Jordan did "Explorations for Keyboard and Orchestra" (which I have yet to listen to), but if they all collaborated... It would be so amazing. This goes along with my hope that they'll someday do a movie soundtrack, but that wouldn't have to be orchestral (like what Pink Floyd did for More).

If they ever did this, I just might die. This is why I love Overture so much (and the parts of Octavarium with an audible orchestra). As doubtful as it is, I hope they do more orchestral stuff with the new album, or some album in the future.
