I am writing a paper on ethical behavior for college, and this is truly a prime example. Yes, we may dislike Wes Borland and/or Limp Bizkit, but it was obviously a joke (one in poor taste, I might add). Truly, we have to remember the Golden Rule here. Many DT fans' tweets to Wes were very rude, and much more so than Wes' original statement. We have to step back and realize that even though we think DT is definitely better than most other bands, what we hold is still an opinion. Also, I would like to add that Corey Taylor does not seem so bad, as I especially liked his attempts at peacekeeping.

We never said we were an eloquent or classy bunch of individuals lol. We just know that Dream Theater is far superior to Limp Bizkit, and similarly John Petrucci >>>>> Wes Borland.

Ya know what?  I actually like a few Limp Bizkit songs.  I would never pay money to see them and the CDs I have of theirs were given to me by somebody that was just going to get rid of them, but they have their audience and thats just fucking fine.

I hate it when people get into a pissing match about musical tastes.  I still can't understand why anyone would listen to the Grateful Dead, but I also love bands like Dark Funeral and understand perfectly why other people can't fathom people listening to it. 

In the end, why the fuck does everything have to be a competition?  Why do we need awards to give for every stupid category under the sun?  People need constant validation for what they do and Limp Bizkit is learning the hard way that they have fewer and fewer people to validate them and their style. 

Dream Theater has never really needed that (even though the grammy nod was cool just for the extra exposure) and that is one of the reasons why I like them.

So, a dude from a band that was famous for about 15 minutes over a decade ago whose songs never break from a 3 chord ABABCB structure and whose lyrics never deviate from the topics of sex, drugs, and rock & roll, is bashing another band that has maintained a steady growth of success for over 20 years, won countless accolades from their fellow musicians and the musician-oriented press, and have written songs and albums that are among the most musically complex that can be found in the modern music world..............

And he is bashing this band because they are too complex and talented and their music has no soul......................

I can't help but feel like I'm listening to a child throwing a tantrum because he just found out that he is not the center of the universe.

I guess for Wes that realization came about 10 years too late.
