This is kind of irrelevant to the topic at hand, but why did James LaBrie say that he was looking forward to seeing Van Halen perform? Does he know something that we don't???

I was wondering the same thing.

@SnakeEyes

On another note, JR was looking sharp in that interview video. DT were just happy to be there, and now they can at least advertise DT12 as "From the Grammy-nominated progressive metal giants, comes, THE NEW DREAM THEATER ALBUM! 2013!!!" So it's all good.

SystematicThought

It was a rumor a long time ago that Van Halen was gonna play the Grammy's but it was The Beach Boys instead.

I can't imagine what's going through his head when the mighty Van Halen never plays

El Barto

I'm absolutely blown away that anybody in this forum actually takes the freaking grammys seriously.  This really bothers people?

Mr. Beale

You could tell it was going to be the Foos because there wasn't even a best "Hard Rock/Metal" category for song or album this year.  :lol Good thing they have time to give awards for "New Age" and Bluegrass.   :tup

Oh well. To be honest, OTBOA wasn't grammy material anyway. Now if it was BITS, that'd be different.

Oh, and The Poo Slingers suck.

I just listened to about thirty seconds of his song that won.   I am now officially a grumpy old man.

Sigz

He gets far too much hate. I mean, he's not really good by any means, but there's far worse stuff out there.

Best part of the interview is when she tries to stick the mic in JM's face.

Something that musically shallow shouldn't be acceptable anywhere, in my opinion. My biggest problem is like why I can't listen to too many blues songs, I have no idea how many different Skrillex songs I've heard because they all have the same formula and sound to them.

What does 'musically shallow' mean?

It's what I consider music for the braindead. Every time I hear a song of his or something like it in a bar it's nothing more than irritating background noise. It's a chore to even find something good about it.

So, you can come from nothing and play some of the worst 'shit' known to man and then deserve awards which should be presented to people who are actually musically talented?

theseoafs

Say what you want about Skrillex, but it requires legitimate talent to make that music.
