Just googled "who will win the grammys", found an article...

It is funny how DT do not even get mentioned in this article (I know it is just the opinion of a mainstream media reporter... and it is from december, he may have changed his mind)

https://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/the-grammys-who-will-win-in-the-key-categories-20111201

Now talking about chances... I do think that OTBOA is the best song of those in the category.... but my criteria to choose are probably very different to those of the voters, apart from JP, does anybody else in DT vote?

Well anyway, I am obviously biased, I love DT!!!

Would be interesting to know the actual criteria.... because if you take that article as a source of criteria, this category seems to be about: headbanging and grooving...

There should be a progressive rock category... but than DT would have to fight to get put in that category and not in metal, well but if that category is full with non-metal prog fans as voters it could be even worse...  :lol
HOLY SHIT, I've never seen Rolling Stone mention metal bands other than Mastodon and Metallica.  Tombs and Autopsy being mentioned even though in a IMN kind of way was still kind of cool.
But RS automatically fails for not even mentioning a band that was nominated in that category. That's just bad journalism.  :lol

I'm okay with this, Wasting Light ranked higher on my AOTY list anyways.

Jaq

The most successful and best known act of the nominees won it?

I'll be over here laying down from the shock  :lol

Millais

just posted this somewhere..:

"Well at least they got nominated, that's the main thing. no big surprises though, Foo Fighters are the bigger band - through my eyes DT should have won it for the better song, musicianship & just general technicality but the Grammys nowadays just seems to be a popularity contest complying with the mainstream opinions."

Haha I love it! Boys all cleaned up. JP lost a bit of the goatee but couldn't do anything about the hair.
I was wondering before you posted that video if they were really gonna fly all the way back from Europe. And since they did just for this then I think they have word that they'll win and had to be there for it.

Very nice. Everybody looks great except for JP who looks a little bit weird from that angle. And James comes as a very personable and cool guy.

But I somehow perceived they don't really belong there

SystematicThought

I forgot that JP is a voting member of NARAS

I love the girls reaction to the fact that OTBOA is nine minutes long. :lol

:omg: Mangini is TINY

Yes he is, I hear he sits on a phone book when playing.

Is this a joke, or are you serious? I can't really tell.

If it's a joke, :lol
If you're serious, :lol

SystematicThought

I do think in an interview Mangini said that he sits on a phonebook for songs that involve octobans but he may have been joking

LieLowTheWantedMan

Just guessing here, but I'm gonna vote no.

It wouldn't matter - you can just raise the height of the drum stool . :P

I don't know why his upper drums are quite so high - he could lower the entire top row and save himself the trouble. There's a huge gap between the toms and octobans.  It's not like he cant see out as it is.
