I allways thought it was SDOIT, but I htink I enjoy The Great Debate some more actually.

I love the whole album, but just because the title track is 42 minutes and they play that shit live, I have to give it to the title track just for the sheer amazingness of it. Aside from that though, I love The Glass Prison (worth it just for the first 2 or 3 minutes even) and Blind Faith :metal

Total tie between Six Degrees, The Glass Prison and The Great Debate.

I also love Disappear. It kinda bums me out that that song gets a lot of shit from people. I think it's a lyrical masterpiece.
My latest concept album "IV: Timber" IS OUT NOW!

Only if Misunderstood did not go on too long then this album would be absolute perfection.

Yup, I feel this is when Dream Theater really started to overdo it on the song lengths. Misunderstood and Blind Faith suffer this problem the most. The Great Debate kind of does too.

I can understand the opinion of Misunderstood's outro or TGD's intro/outro, but what's wrong with BF's song length? Nothing in that song feels extraneous to me.

I'm not a big fan of the instrumental section to Blind Faith. It doesn't fit the mood of the song to me.

Its one the best instrumentals, complete opposite for me. For lengths I definitely can understand TGD but it's still fine. Misunderstood is the only one with a glaring length problem.

Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence (Incredible)
The Glass Prison (Incredible)
The Great Debate/Disappear (Both great)
Blind Faith (Great)
Misunderstood (The ending solo kind of ruins the song...)
I agree  :tup

I would argue that the end of the title suite was by far the most pointless, overdone thing on the whole CD.  Or in fact, in DT's entire discography.  Having that long fadeout was completely unnecessary, IMO.

I think that was done for 2 reasons - As an homage to Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, "A Day In The Life" in particular; To extend the last track of the album to 6 minutes long precisely (at least, on my CD it is, although  most places cite the last track as being 6:01, but I'm pretty sure their/Mike's intent was to have it be 6:00 exactly, in reference to it being their 6th album).

I actually like their song lengths. Well most of them. I think The Ministry Of Lost Souls is a little too long though.

Dreamatlantic

Tied for first place: "Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence" and "The Great Debate"
2nd place: The Glass Prison
