Dream Theater Xtreme is Re/Launched with v4.0!

Big contest and prize giveaways to celebrate so check it out! If you have a little artist in you please feel free to take part in the challenge and get yourself some swag.

For those of you unfamiliar with my site it's just a place where Dream Theater fans who are also artists can have their work hosted in a one-stop-shop. I'm always accepting artwork but I also hold contests to help get people excited and involved.

Anyway, check it out and hopefully we can get some brand new DT artwork going. The band is re-energized. The fans are re-energized. So let's celebrate that energy with some creativity!

As a long time, well known DT site, I ask that you replace the old DT font on your site with this one!

Also, on a technical note, that menu doesn't work in Opera. It works perfectly fine in Chrome and Firefox (didn't check in anything else), so you may choose to ignore it anyway, but it could be a sign of a coding quirk that may cause problems in other browsers too. And by "not work", I mean that all of the menu items are stacked on top of each other instead of spaced out correctly. And in FF the arrows seemed placed slightly off. Just thought I'd let you know so you can check that it won't be an issue for anyone else.

Didn't I already link to the new font? I'm confused now cuz it seems there are 2 "final" versions, one by you and one by Cloak? I don't know which one to point to so help me out.

As for the coding, I've kind of given up on trying to make it work in every browser, I'm just not that hardcore into it anymore, and I'm always hoping that since most browsers have had YEARS of new versions that they would "just work" but I guess that isn't so. I remember in 1999 when everyone had different code requirements and blah blah blah but it's 2011, man, they should "just work" already.

Thanks for the heads up, though.

I really hope people make some artwork cuz I really want to give away some of my DT memorabilia.

Great. Would it be ok if you copy the file to your own site instead of linking directly to mine? I'm actually in the middle of rebuilding my own website, so I can't guarantee that link is going to be permanent.

I can try, but the whole issue I've always had is bandwidth, and the site would go over the limit within a week or two of each month and then be down and I don't want to take anything away from people knowing that you made it and visit your site. But, if it's ok with you, and it's only 8kb, I'll definitely host it myself.

I don't mind you linking directly to the file, as I have plenty of bandwidth, I'm just worried that when I replace my site in a few weeks that I'll completely forget about it and you'll end up with a dead link, so it's probably safer to copy it to your site. It's about the same size as the other font file you had on your server anyway, so hopefully it won't be a problem for bandwidth.

Got it. I'm up to about 5 entries which is way lower than I had hoped and expected but at least now the word is out so hopefully the next one I do in a few weeks will be bigger and better.
