My wife's sister died of a drug overdose about 5 years ago.  My niece, the 17 year old daughter, found her mother dead on the kitchen floor.

When we were coming back from her gut-wrenching funeral, the iPod was on shuffle and "The Spirit Carries On" came on.

To this day I still can't listen to that song without getting choked up.

The Count of Tuscany.

Damn.  I was going to make up a whole story about this, but it wouldn't be the same now.  :(

No Dream Theater songs really remind me of specific experiences, I don't think.  There are many that I can strongly relate to and that have personal meaning for me, but, not in a way that they bring specific memories to my mind.  For instance, I connect to Beneath the Surface because the lyrics are eerily close to representing my relationship with my brother - but no SPECIFIC memory of my brother comes to me when I listen to the song, it's just a general feeling.
