In the spirit of all the other recent vs threads I thought it would be interesting to get your opinions on these two classic DT albums.

My two favorite albums but I'd say Images and Words just beats Scenes by a little bit.

Wow, we actually haven't had this poll in a while.

For individual songs? Probably IaW.
As a whole album experience? Definitely SFAM.

I love both albums, and they have very different strengths. IaW is a collection of amazing songs. SFAM isn't as strong as individual songs, but they flow together to make a musical journey that elevates it above IaW for me.

Zydar

Tough match between my #1 DT album and my #2 DT album, but Images wins. It's a perfect album, and a Top 5 of all time for me.

Liberation

Not even anything resembling being remotely close...

Scenes From a Memory.

Images and Words.

I like its high points and low points more that SFAM's high points and low points.

The Silent Cody

I love ever song from I&W, from Scenes I almost hate The Spirit Carries On. Choice is easy, I&W is full of that great atmosphere that You can find only on a few albums that were ever recorded... SFAM is a masterpiece as well, but the atmosphere is getting away sometimes...

krands85

I&W is the best album ever, making the poll quite easy for me ;D
Whoaaaahh, ohhh, ohhhhh. Whoaaaahh, ohhhhh, ohhhhhh. Waaah, ahhh, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaowwwwww

Scenes is my favorite album ever. Although I concede that I&W is an incredible album, it doesn't have that extra flavor that makes listening to SFAM such a magical experience.

TheGreatPretender

Scenes From A Memory is my favorite album of all time... But here's the thing, it has to be listened as an album, from the beginning to the end. That way, it's the best.
But if you take Images and Words and take it apart and treat it as a collection of random songs, they're all better on their own.
Still, as an album, I'll say Scenes is better. It's a journey.

Sketchy

I like SFAM. It's just brilliant, and has some really lovely piano work on the ballads, and some lovely fretless on Through Her Eyes. Although I have been listening to I&W more lately, SFAM wins... just.

Dellers

Scenes. Fantastic record, and it lacks that horrible, horrible, horrible triggered snare from I&W.

kirksnosehair

Closest choice ever for me, sometimes SFAM feels like it should be my #1 disc, but whenever I make a list, I&W always makes its way to the top

Infinite Cactus

Images and Words. I don't really like SFAM that much anymore. I think the concept is lame. But I do like Overture1928, SDJV, and TDOE. BTS and FT occationally.
