In your opinion, what are Dream Theater's 'untouchable' albums?

ADTOE is still too new, but definatly has the potential to be added.

This. I understand enjoying the album now; but it needs to be revisited to see if it has staying power. I don't understand why so many people are saying it's top 3 DT material yet. It totally has potential, but it shouldn't be judged so soon. But what do I know?

For me its that i cant get it out of my head. I only remember sfam and i&w doing that. Possibly 6doit.

I&W, Awake and SFAM 

After some time has passed, I will most likely consider ADTOE untouchable, but since it was released so recently, it is way too early to make massive decisions like that.

Images and Words is way above Awake, my second favorite DT album. That's not to say that Awake or any other DT albums are bad, of course. It's just that I&W is my favorite album ever - every song is incredible.

I&W is almost untouchable. I would like to see them redo it without the drum triggers. Every time I listen to it I hear the snare and just wish I could hear a remaster/remake of it.. Other than that it as good as it gets!

Images & Words, Scenes From A Memory and now A Dramatic Turn of Events. (Awake, which has some weak spots, is officially in my #4 spot after more time with ADTOE. I cannot describe how this album is capturing my attention - I find everything about it nearly perfect and it has made me a DT fan all over again.)

too early to tell if adtoe is truly untouchable because it's newness hasn't worn off for me yet. Right now I would say yes.

I chose IaW, SFAM and SDOIT as untouchable. They're all note for note perfect from beginning to end, and have that extra something special that nothing else has approached. Especially SDOIT, which is in a league of its own above the rest as far as I'm concerned. Yes, in a league of its own above the other untouchable albums.

I'm a little stunned that ADTOE is so close to SDOIT.. I can't rate it in the same league as an album I have had for 10 years and still love (yet).

Scenes is the only untouchable album to me, meaning I love it to bits and can't come up with much legitimate criticism.

Awake is probably the next closest imo even though it isn't my second favorite by any means.
