To be perfectly honest, I don't even like Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence, the album or the song.
I really don't like The Great Debate,
I don't like Systematic Chaos that much, it has some good songs, but it's just average.
I only like Mike Portnoy's backing vocals on a few songs,
I love the metal side of Dream Theater, as well as the progressive side,
I love and understand Images and Words and Awake, and they are some of my favourite albums of all time.

This is the lockediest thread i have ever seen.

FTFY.

Yeah, no kidding.  :P

I can just ban the three of you from it if you'd rather make cracks about the thread than either of the two acceptable options (ignoring it or posting something constructive in it).

Okay, you are right Bosk, sorry.  I got a little out of hand :(

EDIT: Wait, I don't entirely understand, because I have been posting and replying on this thread to the OP since it was put up.
Could you please explain?

You'll have to speak to Jacob if you want an answer.

I think you meant: "We're the good guys Michael."

I agree with what Bosk said (the post before his last post), except the part about MP's backing vocals. Don't like those. But really OP, people have different opinions and you have to respect that instead of arguing. Most important thing is: wether or not you LOVE Images and I HATE it (which I don't, its my fave album, just giving an example) we are both DT fans in the end. One band, two opinions.

OP, I've read more deeply into your post, and I've realized it's all about you, not me.  It's all about the things that you're expecting me to be.

I don't miss the old DT, i don't want another Images And Words, because that's what Images and Words is for, i want them to move forward and leave "fans" like you where they belong,

In the past.

Wait a minute, are you saying that you do not want to take the "progress" out of "progressive metal"?

Them fightin words.  Seriously though, why leave me behind?  A Dream Theater GroundHog Day does sound pretty cool, if left in the right time though.

Nevermind, this isn't worth my attention.

So, who else likes MP's vocals? I do  :tup And hey, I like old and new DT, but that's impossible, isn't it?

I will give MP credit for the best set of lines of any dt lyrics which was in Voices(I know Petrucci wrote the lyrics, but Portnoy said them):

"Did you know that reality is immaterial?
This is not reality."
Seriously, MP said them? I thought it was just another clip of a movie or something like that. It doesn't sound much like MP.

EDIT: Like I said, I didn't think it was MP. That makes more sense. ^

Oh shit really?  Who said it?

The rapper Prix-mo, in fact. They were in the studio at the same time as DT and MP had him come over and read a few verses from the book "Cultural Revolution."
