Guitar Solos

The first three options are widely regarded as the best JP guitar solos. But, when you add Breaking All Illusions (one of the best solos I've heard in years), does your opinion change?

LITS still takes the cake for me.  Followed by UAGM

Lines In The Sand is probably my favourite. Under A Glass Moon doesn't rank among his very best and I prefer the one at the end of Full Circle (or beginning of Intervals, as I've seen some people refer to it as) to Razor's Edge. Breaking All Illusions is great though, but I don't think it tops Lines In The Sand.

True.  Scarred is a hugely overlooked JP solo IMO.

Any solo that involves JP putting foot up on monitor should be listed, but I have to write in ....Hollow Years LAB.

UUU, quite equal results For me Lines In The Sand solo is still the most awesome, followeb by new one from Breaking From Illusions which is almost the at the same of awesomess

Of the choices given I'll go with BAI,  my #1 is still ACOS (LSFNY)...but given time, it might be surpassed

Interesting poll, I actually think BAI's solo could be a contender for Petrucci's best, although I admit it's hard for me to rank it above LiTS and other classics.

Although personally, I don't think Razor's Edge is even close to being one of Petrucci's best solos.  There are probably 15 or 20 better guitar solos he's done between DT and LTE.

I also probably should have clarified that I was only thinking of STUDIO solos, so no L@B or whatever

UAGM for me, always has been my favourite JP solo. LITS would be close second, and I might throw TBOT in third. TSCO & Scared would also be pretty high up, and now BIA would have to be up there with them.

As a top 5, I'd go with something like:

1. Under a Glass Moon
2. Lines in the Sand
3. The Best of Times
4. The Spirit Carries On
5. Scarred

I expect BIA to jump in there somewhere once it sinks in.

Out of that list, Octavarium slightly edges out LITS. UAGM and BAI are both fantastic solos, but don't quite do it for me like the other two.

But it's so hard to rank JP's solos. There's also TCOT, TBOT, everything from SDOIT, BTL, TSCO, Voices, TTT, etc. I couldn't pick an overall favourite.
