Can someone make a .GIF of the LaBrie's Bono rock during the first verse?

Pretty good video by DT standards, I guess.  I would have liked to see the audio sync up better but it was taken mostly from a live performance so I can't really complain.  Hell it would be nice of them to actually release that live performance with the live audio instead of the studio audio.  :lol

I wonder if they will make a BMUBMD video in the coming months, since it's supposed to be their pop metal song.  I personally would love to see a Bridges in the Sky video... full length... and featuring a real shaman.

Gee, I don't know. Rite of Passage was AWESOME! ::)

You mean this? If not, let me know exactly what you want and I'll give it another shot.

Loving the Blade Runner/Deus Ex vibe.

JP's backing vox are adorable  :-* and hory shit at the shots behind MM.

That's EXACTLY what I meant. Awwh yeah.

Cool video! Much better than most of their others.

I'll play around some more tomorrow. I should be able to produce a better version of the "Bono" shot plus the shot you requested. I used to make them using the full version of photoshop but now I just have photoshop elements so I'm still working on the conversion technique.

Just watched the vid. I really like it. Better than most music vids these days.  :metal

bosk: thank you for your comment about my analysis of the song

Also, I think the point of the buildings in the very beginning of the video (before it shows the modern city) is to compare the Roman Empire to the U.S.  I've heard that comparison before and I think that's what they're trying to do in this video - they're saying that, if we keep going like we are, we're going to end up like every other "empire" that implodes.

OK here is the best I can do. I still can't get the framerates right, but they actually look a little better moving a little slower. I did the original one over, and added the one with the towers. I also cropped out the Yahoo logo:

To me, this video and Wither stand miles above the rest as the best videos Dream Theater have ever done.

This video was very good and the imagery created a good interpretation of the lyrics.

However, I think the Wither video is still their best.  The combination of imagery and vocals creates such an emotional journey (and in hindsight it seems really prescient about the coming split).

Pretty cool video. However, nothing amazing IMO.

- Gotta love that the video is of the whole song.
- Had no problem with LaBrie's look, however, thought he looked a little silly doing his "tough guy" face at 4:45 and 5:00.
- Would have liked to see more of the band live and the White House/Money sub-plot, and a little less of James on the side of the building. But I understand they had to do something to isolate him during the vocal parts.
- Am I the only one who thought the gears that they showed a few times looked a little like they were from a Tool video? Not complaining at all, just an observation.

IdoSC

James look badass on the towers (/specifically recorded footage), but he just looks weird and out of context with the sunglasses (/the live footage).

This. The Wither video is one of the better music videos to ever be released.

Definitely my interpretation as well, can't imagine what else it would be.

I thought the same thing as well.

Unbefuckinlievable. I just found out about the video as I was talking to someone on last.fm who said he likes it and I went "dunno what you're talking about, you must mean some live video" and I looked like a fool. I've been away from the forum for just 2 days where this thread happened and disappeared so I never knew.
With all due respect doesn't this seem like news to put in our announcements jokes line on top of the forum index?!

This could be a goo idea, let's go with it to proper section ;)

Progmetty

But it's not new TSC! That's what the announcement line is for! DT news of any sorts. Be it any tour announcements, new singles or videos. I'm not demanding it or anything but I guess I was just counting on it.
